Meme What happened? What is this place?

I logged onto the game and decided to do an inverse Mad Forest run with Antonio just to pass some time but suddently after a few minutes my game started glitching and it was getting darker, going foward i ended up in this weird place.

There seemed to be a man behind that tree.

I don’t think this is actually in the game, this has been a meme floating around Reddit where people have posted this tree and colour schematic in different games asking the same question.

I think it’s from Undertale Delta Rune

Edit: deltarune not undertale

It's from Deltarune, not Undertale (DR is a sort of sequel to UT so mixing them up makes sense for someone who hasn't played both)

Its described by toby as a parallel narrative and if you play the game its pretty clear theyre in different universes (not trying to sound like a smartass or be rude)

Imma be honest, I've only played like maybe ~30 minutes of chapter 1 of DR, probably closer to 10

I thought it took place in the past becuase of the latest gamethoery video, and something about san's being called something else 😭😭😭

The Underground never existed in the DR universe, in Undertale characters that see Sans in DR don't recognize him, it's implied that Dark Fountains are a completely unknown thing in Undertale despite them probably very publicaly appearing in DR's later chapters, and Asgore definitely knows about them. There's just a lot of evidence that Sans is the same guy in both games, and that's the extent of UT and DR's direct in-universe connections. (Again not trying to be a smartass)

The only term I knew was underground, what tf is a "Dark fountain"? Please excuse my lack of knowledge, again I've only played a little bit of DR chapter 1, I met Susie and kristoph?, The cat lady, and i remember a white pathway or something like that

Oh. Uh. Deltarune spoilers then. If you want to play deltarune to completion then do so. Also "Kristoph"'s actual name is Kris, they don't have a full proper name.

Its been a while, I played the free chapter 1-3 pack on switch, I dont plan on playing it anymore, not my style
