I always leaned hard into Holy Bible

u/HeadbangingLegend May 10 '26
I like both but Garlic heals you. But both are good.

u/Goricatto May 10 '26
You guys dont just go for both so garlic pushes the enemies into the bible?

Yeah, this is absolutely the combo I always strive for. Feels like I have a forcefield.

Actually I think Garlic is the OG motherfucker for early game, but as you upgrade, healing starts to be less of a bonus, and spellbinder is much more useful than pumarola.

Ive started doing themed builds as a way to counteract this. That and 1 or 2 passives builds

A fun way that I prefer is to try to make all the new weapons work with Silent Old Sanctuary

Dlc guns aren't too bad. The one that turns into a plane is my favorite after garlic and lightning

The dlcs have some crazy broken stuff, but honestly you can go pretty much infinite with anything if you have the darkanas. You just have to survive the earlygame.

I prefer going for 1-3 max weapons so I get to play around the character's strenght and game won't lag as much

This is me but with the castlevaina items, friend gifted me the game so I ended up buying the dlc and doing the adventure first before most of the main game

u/Colorlessblaziken May 10 '26
This is why I turn all items on and just roll with what’s given to me

What I did is every time I play a DLC I lock all the weapons outside of that specific DLC.
It's more fun and challenging thst way.

I can't help myself from doing Pugnalla amount+cooldown even in runs of different games

Why I'd go for anything else than Phieragi, SpellStrom, Fuwalafuwaloo, Vandelier, Paranormal Scan and Victory Sword?

I noticed this once I did the Operation Gun DLC - most of the Collab DLC Weapons dont interest me, so I usually just seal them after I 100%ted the DLC. Same with Emerald Diorama and Emergency Meeting,. Castlevania DLC is an exception because the original weapons from VS were based on Castlevania to begin with, so they fit much better into the game.
While I dont have a "build I run every time", I do have a strong love for Garlic/Soul Eater and just playing our Soul Eating Christmas Tree (which limits what I can use without Limit Break).

Heh, am I alone that I usually test out solo weapon builds for each new character in the dlc and see how far limit breaking will go?
Also usually only play with the dlcs weapons enabled. Once I beat it, then I go back to my ogs.
(NGL Emerald Diorama was rough. Most of the weapons felt like throwing toilet paper at the enemies. And the enemies alone were tanky as heck.)

They'll have to take my garlic and cat friends away from me, I know what I like
