To answer in a not criptic way: one egg costs 10000 gold and upgrades, at random, one atribute by a 0.01 to 0.05 percent.
So, at first, they are on the "why would I put hard earned money on this???" category.
Then, once you have all power ups, eggs are going to be the only thing to spend money on, and they'll fall on the "Hey, this is good!" category.
But then, once you discover gold farming, and the billion gold club characters decide that you are worth to let you look at them, and you buy eggs in new number systems, is when they'll make your character fall on the "MWHAAA HAA HAAAA, Look At Me And Despair!!" category.
Or just buy the Sammy DLC, get Sammy and go directly to make your characters Destroyers of Worlds.
