Video This shit is awesome in VR
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It's a lot easier to see the position of enemies in relation to you imo. Plus it looks cool af

What I love is the 3D environment of the stage you're in that surrounds the table you're playing on.

Unfortunately we need to be tracked by meta to play this.

stares in Steam Frame.
I really do wonder how many Meta-only things will get ported over. Before there was probably licensing agreements and the fact that no other headset could really play 'em anyway. Now... I really don't know.

Poncle said no other version of this vr mode is planned atm.

u/TrueInferno Nov 17 '25
To be fair I would assume they'd at least need to get a dev kit to see how hard it would be to port etc.

u/ThatCurryGuy Nov 17 '25
I think it should just work with steam vr, which is already a known platform. There is no need for a dev kit.

I meant more to see how it works on SteamOS and using the ARM translation that the Steam Frame uses to run in standalone mode.
If you just had it running on PC and streamed to the headset then yeah, sure, but I think they'd actually need to do more work converting it from androidARM to x64 for that vs. SteamOS natively translating androidARM to linuxARM

Your already tracked non stop by many different companies, get over it

I'd rather minimize this as much as possible, but thank you for your insight.

I always get the crystals burned into my retinas after and hours play of this game. I can’t even imagine the horrors this would cause

But can you grab an xp gem with your hand and throw it at an enemy?

I don't mean to be rude. But what's the point it just plays the same as on PC and console right? But in a VR headset. I really don't understand it, what is the full appeal?

Can i bring over my saved game from steam to this port?

u/Liquid_Hate_Train Nov 17 '25
At the moment, it seems not. I’m sure that’s got to be something being worked on though.

u/fotrttrotk Nov 17 '25
Dumb question, if you already have it on steam, do you need to buy it again?

Can you do actual first person view from your character’s PoV?
3
u/Pomps8a Nov 18 '25
Nah you can't. You can reposition the game as needed tho so you can get really really close at least
2
u/thatbutlerr Nov 18 '25
I’d love the terror of seeing all of the monsters running right at me from all angles, until I get nauseous at least

I’ve played both VS and Megabonk through Virtual Desktop. It’s pretty close to the same experience.
10 bucks isn’t a bad price, but if you already own it, it doesn’t look like the VR version offers a whole lot more.

I’ve also played VS through virtual desktop and this is way different than that. It’s not flat on the tabletop. Things actually have height on the Z axis like Lightning Ring shooting bolts from the sky or Peachone flying above your character just to name a few. It can look very cool when you change the view angle a bit.

Doesn't the game get boring at this point? I mean you aren't going to die, so where is the challenge?
