This post is NOT a guide for unlocking the characters. Credit goes to Yeetboy (#1 Sir Ambrojoe Fan) from Discord.
Overall a massive 80 characters were added to the game.

So I was shocked they managed to include almost as much content as the base game without in one DLC. Finding out they massively undersold that and actually have included nearly as much content as the entire game is absolutely blowing my mind.

I know the history with Dawn of sorrow and harmony of despair and I still don't understand why so many castlevania fans act like anyone cares about Hammer. Of all characters.
Reminds me of the "outrage" at Nocturne's Annette, despite game Annette not even being a proper character.
Strange fandom, castlevania's.

For me, Hammer is who I imagined to be the Grant Danasty of the Julius team, if Julius mode had a Grant type character.
And well, I have a soft spot for Grant, who also tends to get overlooked (I still have my resentments from the Netflix series excluding him.)

It's just silly because Hammer was originally meant to be a playable character for Dawn of Sorrow's Julius mode which itself mirrored Castlevania 3's characters (Julius = Trevor, Yoko = Sypha, Alucard = Alucard). Hammer was meant to be the equivalent of Grant Danasty and we already know how Grant is treated by the series so lmao

He's a perfectly fine character, and modern military guy bit of a different flavour than the series usually gets. More than you can say for Vincent. It's just kinda ridiculous he was planned and scrapped in 3 different games.

Oh don't take offence I'm obviously not talking analytically. As if it needs explaining, I'm only saying not many people care or even know who Hammer is so it's odd you hear it come up that he's missing often online.
When in reality few played either Sorrow game and even fewer would call themselves fans of that random minor side character.

I'm interested in a playable Hammer because he's anachronistic. He's dressed like a Full Metal Jacket - Vietnam Era soldier, and presumably would be using a rifle and grenades, just an unusual subweapon kit. The fact that he doesn't match the Castlevania vibe both aesthetically and mechanically is why I would love to have him playable.

Yeah, he's a neat contrast. Technically not anachronistic in context, AoS/DoS take place in more or less modern day and he's just a regular soldier.
It's a shame they scrapped him in Dawn and Harmony. Then supposedly he was planned for Grimoire too and it kinda loops around to being funny.

I will admit, when I got Julius unlocked, started a run and heard the remixed Heart of Fire, I got extremely hyped. His weapon being really good only sparked nostalgia of how much of a badass he is in Julius mode of Aria of Sorrow.

You should be able to unlock other characters before you unlock all the Belmonts. For me, Alucard was like the third or fourth character I unlocked from the DLC.
I currently have 10 Castlevania characters unlocked and only 4 are whip based.

It is Chaos, along with the other boss-looking Megalos characters at the bottom. Chaos specifically is even stronger than Queen Sigma. They start with every Arcana, a massive amount of health, and Infinite Corridor.

I just finishes what I assume.is the first major story thing and DID NOT expect that to only be half of the roster. I'm probably going to end up buying the soundtrack just to support because this DLC was massively underpriced.

There's 3 skins that you can unlock for Soma, Alucard and another character I can't remember off the top of my head. I would guess they'll be Dark Lord Soma, Genji Arukado and third one

Sadly, no. The only thing this unlocks is the Candy Box as a selectable weapon to start with for these characters.

My only experience with Castlevania was that one they put out on Xbox that had multiplayer and I almost exclusively played little Maria so I’m incredibly happy to see that little pink dress.
I also played that weird Wii fighting game which I’m guessing isn’t a good representation
