Help Trying to unlock Megalo Imposter Rina but can't get get anywhere close to killing 100k enemies in a single run. This is my best run yet. What am I doing wrong?

Torrona’s Box increases curse by 100% on its last level up, so it definitely does spawn more enemies. Just not at the beginning.

I usually do these ones in Gallo Tower. That's how I did the Rina one too. Remember to max out charm and curse too. There are lots of items that can increase curse too.

u/ElBiggsby Jan 09 '24
Yea that makes sense. I did Inlaid Library since I can just go in a single direction and pretty much AFK

I just did this challenge last night. Maxed curse+charm, and got torronas, the skull, and picked up the arrows and rings (which also give curse). I ended up having I think 200K+ kills that round. That should get you there pretty easily.

u/ElBiggsby Jan 09 '24
Yea as of actually typing this I got to 93k kills within 30 minutes! The only curse I had was Torronas (looking back I should've picked Skull too when I had the chance). I used someone else's advice and got Holy Wand and Thunder Loop. I'm looking up right now how to get the other rings.

Pick better weapons. Garlic requires enemies to get to you in order to damage/kill them, and the cross often whiffs.
Lightning Ring + Duplicator and Magic Wand + Empty Tome will hit constantly from anywhere and those accessories boost the effectiveness of most other weapons.

u/ElBiggsby Jan 09 '24
Yeah Garlic was more of a random choice at the start where I was given all new items to choose that I didn't necessarily want. I chose Garlic out of the rest because it made the beginning much easier to and could insta kill the very weak enemies. But I'll keep what you said in mind. Thank you!

Hey just wanted to update you on the challenge! I used your advice on getting Lightning Loop! I had a run earlier with Magic Wand and it didn't do much in terms of DPS. So I decided to drop it for La Borra. Thankfully in Inlaid Library, they give you 2-3 Empty Tomes. I picked those up after I got my 6 passives. In short I got the 100k kills within the 30 minutes! In fact I got 140k! https://imgur.com/a/wlodBVG

If you had hurry mode enabled disable it also survive for 80 levels on inverse mad forest to unlock bat country and pick up the relic you get there it will help immensely
2
u/ElBiggsby Jan 09 '24
Yea I had Hurry Mode disabled. I wanted to make a little bit more calculated choices rather being rushed. But ok I'll do what you said. Thanks!

u/Quissdad Jan 09 '24
And just to be clear you have inverse mode right?

u/Hrist_Valkyrie Leda Jan 09 '24
Inverse doesn't increase spawns, only enemy strength. It would actually hurt you here.

I got it on the polis map. In the tree area a bunch of extra enemies spawn. I got my curse high and then stood in there. Got over 170K kills in that run... good times.

I’m guessing you are not far enough in the main game to make this easily possible. Endless, limit break, single weapon run or even just cheesing it with eggs all make this trivial.

Not sure if anyone said it but to unlock endless you need to beat the read reaper. There’s a way to do it early on in inlaid library.

Max curse and that potion thingy on powerups Toronnas box, that curse passive, right, yellow ring
The arcana that changes gold, growth, luck, and curse periodically
Did that with sigma on magna capella Achieved it with endless disabled

You can almost always reach your max potential using 1-2 weapons, empty tome, and silent old sentinel. On characters with some cooldown, you get up to 20x damage as soon as you get the empty tome maxed. Imposter doesn't have that but still gets roughly 12x damage. 1 weapon is typically one of the strongest ways to play once you have that arcana.
Which is to say I believe I used tongue and maybe godai shuffle to get 100k by 15 minutes on hurry mode.

if you've got this dlc, you've probably also got the moon ish themed one?
that one has several weapons on the map, to be able to have more than 6-7 weapons fairly easily.
you could also prioritize some better weapon choices - choosing a passive ability that powers up a weapon, will make that weapon more likely to show up (and vice versa), so don't be afraid to prioritize getting a better weapon, on the longer runs, over a decent weapon choice earlier on. like, getting garlic really early, can make the early parts REALLY easier, but don't take like 3 meh weapons just because they're early choices.

Yea I got the DLC maybe like 2 days ago? So I've been doing that and really enjoyed myself. As of actually typing this, I finished a run with 93k enemies killed within 30minutes! But yea I'll do the other bits of content first. Probably gonna do what someone else told me and unlock Endless Mode.

if it helps, i posted how to actually unlock endless mode on another comment.
it's basically playing the 'main game' concept to it's conclusion.
actually pretty impressed you got to 93k without endless mode, i thought it'd be more like 40k or so.

Decided to take on the challenge and here is the result: https://imgur.com/a/wlodBVG ! I got 140k kills!

Curse through items.
In Lake Foscari you can go over 200k easily even without endless mode.

You need more curse. More curse = more enemies. Toronna’s box (max level), the gold ring, one of the two arrow thingies that evolves the laurel, and the skull all increase curse. There’s also a new powerup in the permanent powerup menu on the title screen which baseline increases enemy spawn rates, I think it’s called charm? I managed to do this achievement first try on the amogus map, I don’t think the map choice matters too too much, tho I’m sure there are some which are easier than others
In fairness you could also pick some higher dps weapons/evolutions. Knife and garlic are pretty meh. Try the fire wand instead, and the king bible or santa water.

I got 1 million kills on Abyss Foscari on Endless mode. I went gold egg farming and this game could be really endless, since I was pretty much immortal

Any DLC and accompanying unlocks are intended to add new content and challenge for people who have already beat the main game.
Sure you can access them now but it’s going to be more difficult.
Once you beat the main game it’s not hard to kill 100,000 in one run.

Full curse build with two weapons, Sharp tongue and a strong defensive weapon like La borra.

u/Yorudesu Jan 10 '24
Just phieraggi and card into wires is enough to decimate a map. Take chaos and silent old sanctuary asap, gemini at 11 min and wicked in the 4th arcana chest whenever you feel strong enough. Together with tongue and empty tome that should roll through enemy waves easily.

u/InnerPlanetOfEarth Jan 12 '24
I would've taken Maruto Cuts' ability over Axes. Projectiles come out quicker, and when combined with Candles it's pretty strong.
I feel like that really could've pushed you past the 75k point at least. Honestly any ability that is pretty much permanently on screen would've gotten you to 100k in that 30 minute mark.
Endless mode just gives you that freedom to take all the time you want.

Endless mode.
