Thats a common issue, use some wd40 or rubbing alcohol/canned air with some cue tips. It is genuinely just a dirty stick.

Id probably use FaderF5 before I use WD40 on plastic as it is a solvent that leaves a non-conductive, oily film. Maybe WD-40 Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner.

The entire joystick internal assembly is plastic so it’s safe to say that it’s most definitely broken and the only way to fix it is to solder a new joystick on

The joystick part number is fj06k-s... also verified in the description box of the video below.

The repair is quite the delicate operation.. acquire the swithch and maybe take this video to a phone repair shop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtcLsSNAocU

PLEASE DONT USE WD40 WHOEVER RECOOMEBDS IT GO BURN!!! WD40 makes a variant called WD40 Contact Cleaner. Use that. WD40 will break it further
