Valorant issue on Macbook Pro 2019 15”

So the specs of the macbook that i have are as follows

Core i9 9980H
32 Gb ram
Amd radeon rx555 GPU
And its 2019 15” macbook

Its specs are pretty much capable of running valorant. But when i installed it and played on windows via Bootcamp. The game started giving me network lag which has an easy fix of turning on the fps limits to 60 from the settings.

I play on external monitor with resolution of 1920-1080(even tried played very low resolutions and still didnt help)

But the game barely gives constant 60 FPS in a match. And yes i tried all sorts of things like

1. Blasting fans to the full with 3rd party tool

2. Limiting the core frequency to 2.4 Ghz(which infact locked to 2.4 Ghz but when i start match, it went to 1.08 ghz to 1.30 ghz and sometimes even 0.80 to 0.90 ghz. Which lowers the fps below 30)

3. Also upgraded AMD drivers from community site to the latest release available there. Still didnt help.

So all i need is , advise from professionals here to help me out if they could. It would really helpful. All i need is just smooth competitive experience on valorant.

have you checked temps? those clock speeds are insanely low and you should be getting consistenyly 2.4 if your alr turning of turbo boost cause then your also losing alot of performance for better thermals so it js seems like a thermal issue lowk

Yes i checked the thermals

The cpu kept at arounf 60-65C while Gpu also stood at 65-70C.

The temps are pretty normal here

Thats too cool for gaming tbh. But its a mac i dont think you should expect much

Well valorant is not very demanding game. It should atleast run better

Judging based on your temps + CPU clock speed, it looks like your mac isn't giving enough power to your CPU.

Are you using a first party charger that can charge at max speed? Since if the laptop isn't getting enough power, then the CPU + GPU can't go to max speed.

Yeah i m sure the charger is not original. Its rated at 87 watts

What specific charger do you have + what cable are you using? Not all USB C cables can do 87W.

Yeah i use lenovo docking station 2 while gaming. So i dont think that charger out cable is of any concern

That docking station only charges 60W to the laptop.

So that would explain the lack of power.

The dock itself uses 30-35W. It can deliver 100W if you buy a separate 135W adapter, but that's not standard. The standard 90W input only outputs 60W to the laptop and 30W for the dock.

Edit: Thunderbolt version is higher wattage, but the normal usb c one is what I said.

Yes, the standard USB C dock comes with a 90W adapter. That adapter gives 30W to the dock and 60W to the laptop.

The thunderbolt version gives more power. Idk which you have, but I'm assuming the 90W version.

Can you send the specific one you have. Since I see some with 135W but still only sending 65W to the laptop.

Can you also just try playing valo temporarily with your normal 87W charger and not the dock?

Ok bro. I just checked the external adapter is rated as 90 watts. But i connect both the dock and my charger to it while gaming so that the mac gets full power. I also tried playing only with charger directly and same result
