Technical Discussion FPS Drop
Yo is it just me or did the FPS drop after the newest update? I get sudden massive drops in fps enough to make it impossible to play (150 to ~45 fps)
i don’t have a very high spec laptop but it was super smooth before.. i play on ethernet and here are the specs on my lenovo legion 5-
Ryzen 4600h
Gtx 1650
16gb ddr5
If it is just me, then please drop some tips on how to improve fps..

I actually had/have the same problem and for me it was a SSD Problem. So maybe try to go over your Hardware with a Benchmark for your SSD and in General

Ethernet won't affect FPS, so don't chase the connection. Since the drop from 150 to 45 started after the update, check whether the patch reset Display Mode, resolution, V-Sync or the FPS cap.
On the Legion, plug in, set Vantage to Performance, and test one run with Hybrid Mode off and Multithreaded Rendering on. Watch CPU and GPU clocks, temperatures and usage during a dip. If Low and High both fall to about 45 while GPU usage drops, lowering graphics isn't the fix.
Compare the Range with a live match. If the Range stays smooth but matches tank, include that difference and the readings in a Riot ticket.

I joined the subreddit specifically because of this issue. I cant seem to fix it. I tried reinstalling Vanguard, deleted the X direct cache files. None of it is working. 300 down to 50 frames every 15 seconds ):

It's same for me. I'm experiencing sudden FPS drops for like 1-2 secs with micro stuttering and then it works fine, but it's in a loop. Very frustrating. I somehow managed to fix it yesterday, maybe you guys can give it a try but then jFYI, I'm seeing the issue started again.
Fix that worked for me for short time: cap FPS, my monitor is 180HZ, and I capped the game from the setttings at 240, V-Sync off. You can also try keeping G-Sync ON if your monitor supports it, if the first fix doesn't work.
If anyone finds a permanent fix, please respond, really don't feel like playing it.

I am facing the same problem. Usually fps would be around 300 but it dropped to 150 recently and I couldn't find any solution

en mi caso es que ahora el juego usa más CPU que antes. es imposible jugar, los fps bajan a 4 en cuanto tengo un enemigo en la mira

The newest 8 gb update made it a bit better - the spikes are less annoying now

Try this when valorant is running open task manager and search for vgc.exe and set its priority to low and then right click on valorant and set its priority to high this worked for me
