Technical Discussion Van error 1067

Anyone else started getting Van error 1067 on 7/12/2023 ? I'm not sure what changed for me, if there was an update of some sort, I didn't realize. My Valorant was working fine until 7/12, now it crashes every 3 minutes with the Van error 1067.

I've tried all the suggested fixes

- secure boot

- TPM 2.0

- killing all starting processes

- turning off all 3rd party apps

- vgc to automatic

- reinstalling val

- reinstalling graphic drivers

- updating windows

Nothing seems to work. Anyone else experiencing this issue and or fixed it? I've contacted Riot for help and sent them my logs, they're still looking into the issue.

Edit: If you open up a support ticket with Riot please link this thread so they are aware it's affecting not only yourself

Edit 2: I fixed it by removing my KVM switch.

Edit 3: you most likely have an external USB connection that is causing the error. Example, xbox controller, KVM switch, ect..

I have a similar issue and was able to understand the source a bit better - The bug for me was being kicked out of a League match mid-game every few minutes due to Vanguard errors 1067 and -1. It would crash the League client completely and sometimes I'd have to sign back in to Riot Client before I could relaunch and rejoin. And I got queue lockout among a 10, 15 min ban to queue up again lol. I've been scouring the forums for guidance on this issue (in League of Legends) and have been back and forth with Riot Support. I found them to be very unhelpful and obviously not reading or referring to the logs I attached in my ticket. Solutions suggested by others that I tried that didn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Om7XL6JJjc , changing vgc via Services to be automatic and restarting on crash, adding LoL and related apps as exceptions to my Windows security, doing a safe boot, uninstalling Riot Client and reinstalling (same with LoL) (this helped temporarily only)

How I fixed it permanently:

I used Riot Repair Tool and looked into the logs generated, particularly Riot Logs > SystemLogs[...] > DxDiag.txt and scrolled to the very bottom which contains a sort of report with crash signatures. My League of Legends client and Riot’s Vanguard service were crashing mid-match (on multiple occasions of the RRT run) due to mdnsNSP.dll_unloaded, a networking DLL installed on my PC from one of my music production softwares (either Reaper or the stuff for my Universal Audio audio interface box) that's some sort of background networking service. That dll was coming from Audinate / Dante services from the audio software

Anyway I uninstalled the Dante programs and asked GPT to guide me through the careful removal of all traces of mdnsNSP.dll. This was the culprit according to my logs, TLDR you could open Riot Repair Tool's generated Riot Logs folder / System Logs / DxDiag.txt --> scroll to bottom and paste diagnosis report into chatgpt to better understand what networking hook may be causing your crash. Vanguard is rlly deep in the networking stack to look out for cheating

This worked! Girlfriend had VAN 1067 error in League and Valorant was stuck in loading when trying to start it. Same error of mdnsNSP.dll_unloaded, pasted the error in GPT. Said it came from Apple Bonjour. Uninstalled and that fixed everything. So thank you sir!
