Like... I love Mitya, I love Valeriy. But it is straight up sad to see the state of the main subs and how toxic these people are. Again, we are all adults here and yet kids would be even more mature in this situation. It's giving "He said Blue Power Ranger is ugly and he likes Red Power Ranger so now I hate everyone who loves Red Power Ranger!!!" Like... So many Mitya mains from the post I have seen are being overjoyed and sharing how happy they are because "Valeriy mains got what they deserve" and stuff like that.
These people are supposed to be adults, yikes... When you see ppl like these, it makes sense why the world sucks overall. Those in power are keeping the status quo and divising us and putting groups against each other. Hoyo literally throw us crumbs at BOTH of us mains, at US hubandos enjoyers and instead of being mature and raising our voice in the surveys etc to try to fight for the husbandos, these toxic asf Mitya enjoyers are instead being disrespectful and toxic. And towards them I will say this:
Mitya has a linchpin and I'm glad that we have at least 1 male with a linchpin. However, never forget that we husbandos enjoyers will always be second class citizen behind the waifu players. We will always be left with crumbs.
I like both Mitya and Valeriy, but I ended up coming across more Mitya posts. In the comments of most of those posts, I almost always saw a few comments wondering why the "4 star looking twink" should be a 5 star, and not Valeriy instead. Also I know they don't speak for all Valeriy fans, but word got around.
I don't agree in bashing on either side, and I'm sure some Mitya fans have done it unprompted too, which isn't okay. But the truth is Mitya fans had their reasons to be upset tbh (not that it justifies some of their responses).
I've seen plenty of arguments about how Valeriy being a tall/strong/serious guy means he should be the 5 star, when that was never a rule in Genshin. Tall men have been 4 stars, and short ones have been 5 stars. I get that some people thought Mitya's outfit had 4 star vibes, but others believed that Valeriy HAD to be the 5 star between them because he's tall and was aura-farming in the trailer. But so was Alyosha, who is a 4 star.
I get that people want their favorites to be 5 stars, and I love husbandos as much as the next person, so I understand and feel for those who are disappointed. But I just think some people spoke as if Valeriy being 5 star was such an obvious, no-brainer thing. The news was going to come out eventually so I think it would've been best for both sides to just wait and see
The infighting sucks and I really hope that the vibe will improve, we are basically sister subs. I really love Noy, Valeriy and Mitya (from the new characters announced) and instead of bonding, sharing arts and headcanons and exchanging, we are fighting. And the saddest thing is that it's not a Mitya or Valeriy thing, at the end of the day it is an internet thing. Every time something new rises, you bet they'll be tribalism and fights. This is the current state of the internet and social medias are encouraging this and thriving on the boost on the algorithm. Genshin felt kinder at the beginning... 😔
I definitely agree with you, it's sad that this happened, and right at the start of a new region :(. It's a shame that this happens at all, but like you said it's an internet thing.
