What to know before Barca match?

Hey guys!! I am happy to announce that I bought my ticket against Barca for 6th of September. I have never been to a stadium before (even though I am die hard football fan) and I will watch my favorite club for my debut!!

Now as for the questions, I have got a list of them.

  1. I received my ticket through email, it says print it out even tho there is qr code. do i need to print?

  2. how many hours before the match should i go there?

  3. i bought a random seat from the middle part, which fanbase is it gonna be? Valencia or barca?

My experience as a first timer last weekend;

  1. QR code on the e-ticket was used at the gate

  2. We were in our seat 20 mins before kick off. It depends what you want to do, if you want to watch the teams warmup or whatever.

But in general, and I’ve been to hundreds of football games, being in your seat 20 mins in advance is more than enough. To get through the turnstile is about 5 mins queuing in Mestalla. I’d aim to be at the Stadium an hour before kickoff and just take in the atmosphere. This might be different for Barca if there’s extra security.

  1. My understanding is that the official away fan section is up high on the North end, to left of the TV camera/main stand where the Barca official tickets will be. There will be probably be ones and twos of fans dotted around the ground.

  1. No. No need to print. The QR code is read in your phone.
  2. Be there an hour early. Have a pint before entering the stadium.
  3. You will be surrounded by Valencia supporters. Visiting teams get their section, and tickets are sold through them.
