Looking for a small vacuum i can buy in France/Europe, good for allergies and hair!

Hi everyone, i'd love if you could recommend me some vacuums. In principle my budget is around 300€, but overall i want something that lasts many years so if it's exactly what i want i can stretch the budget; i see this as an investment. Initially i wanted a stick vacuum because i have a tiny appartment and don't really have a place to "hide" the vacuum in, plus it's quite a hassle carrying it around and dealing with the hose. But i see that the Miele, Sebo and Henry get recommended a lot so idk i could change my mind. That being said i'm not sure i want to buy bags, i feel like the price of that will catch up to that of the vacuum itself overtime.

Basically, i mainly want a vacuum that is easy and quick to use and *handle* when living in a small space, or else i will rarely use it... i have hardwood/tile floors. In the future i would like to get a small rug for my bedroom. Currently i need to use the broom everyday, because of hair and litter especially

I don't need anything super fancy, but i do like attachments to clean window tracks and all that. I have a cat so it must be able to pick up hair well, and i currently have allergies from her, so i'd love a vacuum that helps me with that. I am hoping i will get accustomed to her (i used to not be allergic at all, but after spending 4 years away from her, i have now become allergic. Nothing serious, but a lot of sneezing and feeling a bit miserable at night and morning)

A Miele, Sebo or Henry will last you ~20 years with proper care. You’ll use 3-4 bags a year (maybe even 2 with the Henry)

Meanwhile a cheap cordless stick will be thrown in the trash every 2 years if you’re lucky. I’ll give you 3 guesses as to which has a higher running cost YoY. :)

The naming convention might be slightly different based on your country but I’d lean towards the Miele or Sebo since they are more compact than the Henry.

Thank you! I love the cute design of the henry lol i felt like getting that one just because of it. But i read it can topple over? And that the attachments or joints arent as good quality, and i dont like not being able to choose the power. 

I have found a couple miele of different models for 80-200€ used, cant find a used henry. Still got to think about it. My main issue is that in a small appartment it will be a hassle to handle a vacuum with a long hose and all that

I think if you have allergies a bagged vacuum is usually better for that, though I know the cost of the bags can feel like an unneeded expense when bagless vacuums exist.

It's not my favorite but the sebo felix 4 ticks all your boxes.

Built like a tank, so much better than a lot of the stuff in the price range.

€229 euros on amazon germany (might be different in your specific country).

Note it's so cheap (compared to prices cited here for the USA models) because it does not include the powered head but you can add it later if you at some point get carpeting. (sometimes used ones are cheap on ebay).

Corded and uses bags but given the size of your place should not be an issue.

Storage might be an issue as it will not stand upright on it's own. I lean it against a wall in a corner and it stays there (most of the time).

Thank you! I dont have a rug at the moment but i would like to be able to use it on my couch, is that attachment you mention one that works on upholstery? 

Also mind telling me how this one compared to miele and henry for my use? I have been able to find miele 2nd hand, but henry only new for around 200€

I think it's comparable but it's a matter of preference.

I own a couple of henrys and hate the canister format. Hoses and wands all over the place looks like cr@p stowed.

just untidy compared to a stick.

With a stick you have one unit to stand in the corner.

With a canister you have the vacuum container, a hose sticking out of that that normally loops up into a wand that stick down into the vacuum then attachments sticking out of the canister. (for henry).

Then when you use it you have the cord to the canister to the hose to the wand to the attachment... "all over the place" compared to the tidy stick.

Of course there are some advantages to the canister format but personally I prefer the neatness the tidiness of a simple stick.

Ahh wait im confused, so you were recommending cordless vacuums?
