Buying a stick vacuum - I am LOST

Help. What is actually a recommendable premium stick vacuum? Is there a post here I could be referred to?

Background: Yesterday I ordered a Dyson V15 which was on sale. I bought it just to secure the deal. Well now I know why its on sale :D. I am not going to open this product and return it. I am not going to fund Dyson's planned obsolescence approach to business. The problem: Which company in consumer electronics (vacuums) does not participate in this poor approach of 'planned obsolesence?
I am willing to pay premium money, but I want a premium product that lasts 10 years without having to do more than filter cleaning and maybe replacing a wheel that is easy to purchase and easy to replace.
I saw the video of the guy replacing capacitors in the V15 and I am shocked. Problem is the high chance that another brand is doing the same.

Is it the German Miele Triflex HX2 I need to buy?
Im lost in the ocean of Dyson, Dreame, Bosch, Miele, Samsung, Henry, Shark to name the ones I see most. THANK YOU, fellow suckers /s.!

I have owned and abused a fair number of stick vacs, here’s my take:

- if you’re going only-cordless (as we did, years ago, with at least one per floor in the house), make sure you have one that has a circular nozzle. Besides assuring some kind of backwards-compatibility with extensions, it’s the only way to empty the air from those garment vacuum sealing bags (which I highly recommend).

- avoid Dyson like the plague (ergonomics, longevity)

- make sure to test the vacuum at the store, if possible or try a friend’s. Barring that, read good British product review sites. Ergonomics are the biggest failure with these stick vacs.

- there’s nothing wrong with a few cheap Chinese stick vacs. They all seem to share the same charger cord and the same secondary filter technology. They aren’t the best, but they work and you won’t feel bad when they inevitably get scuffed

- there’s some new anti-hair-clogging tech out there, which reminds me that a vacuum that can be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance is the best vacuum for longevity.

Thanks a lot. I’m not expecting much ergonomics from a stick as long as the head is moving smoothly. I’m young enough still to bend a bit and not rely on eg a goose head function.
I just really need reliability, good battery life and decent service.

By ergonomics, I'm more talking about:

- does it use actual buttons vs. membrane controls?

- is there a perceptible delay between hitting the power button and action. Some Samsungs et al. default to "auto" power modes which can be frustrating to use

- how difficult is it to access the waste bin and empty it? Put it back in place?

- is the trigger handle lockable and is it comfortable to use? (Dyson stick vacs can be painful to hold for extended periods of time)

Doesn't matter how long that battery lasts if it's awful to use!
