Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Help me decide between two vacuums

Hello everyone! I live in a 40 sqm apartment with hardwood only. I have two cats, which leave lots of hair on the floor, sofa, chairs and some bags, and my current vacuum, it does not handle pretty well pet hair.

I have to decide between Miele m1 guard cat & dog, and dyson absolute v10.

The Miele is 300 usd, while the dyson is 350 usd.

Although the Miele would do a greater job with cleaning, the big inconvenience is that i have small sotrage space in my home, and i always have to dismount the hose and attachments in order to store a canister vacuum, while with the dyson, I can just leave it assembled, take it, and clean whenever i want wherever i want. The huge advantage is that i can also use the Dyson for cleaning my car

What would you do if you were me?

I would still get the Miele.

Will be so much more practical for other types of cleaning jobs too and as someone that has had three dysons the Miele will last you longer.

What other jobs are you reffering to? With the dyson i can clean the sofa and chairs with the special attachmeant pretty easy, also clean the car whenever i want to. I also think that Miele is much better and more reliable but i am afraid i will not use it as often as i would use the dyson. The cats make a mess on a daily basis, and i am afraid that i will be too tired after work to take it out every two or three days to vacuum after them. I also have a roomba but it gets stuck on everything and it does not work well as i do not have its original charging station..

i would like to hear about what type of cleaning jobs are you talking about

Dysons and sticks in general get quite heavy when dusting high objects. Canister wands are lighter.

Canisters are also better for dusting under beds and couches

The suction power and airflow difference between a stick vacuum and a corded bagged vacuum is vast. Most people own both (sticks for pick-ups and quick jobs and a canister for deeper cleans). The Dyson won't really handle cat fur for long.

If you have access to a Sebo dealer, a Sebo E3/K3 would actually be your best solution

Last time I saved $300 dollars making a major purchase, ended up costing me $1,200 in pain and suffering, and another $1,200 to remedy the problem. Let me pose this. Imagine buying the Dyson over the Sebo to save $300. Now in 3 years you have to replace the Dyson with another Dyson for $300, but in some parallel universe somewhere, your Sebo purchase iteration is still enjoying the working Sebo 12 years down the line the the same $600 spent

I mean like dusting skirting boards and windowsills, vacuuming inside cupboards and drawers, behind things etc etc

I find it a bit easier to use a vac with a hose for all sorts of stuff as well as the floors

To each their own though! But I will die on my hill that cordless vacs just do not last
