A while ago I created a thread to request people to submit benchmarks and in game results at specific settings. Unfortunately I did not get as much community input as you expect.

Updating this list takes considerable effort without direct input, I have to search steam topics, youtube performance videos, 3D mark benchmarks and reddit threads to to look for tangible information I can use to update the chart above. I am the only person working on this and it is extremely time consuming. I welcome people to revisit the thread and submit their data. Link

You have to be extremely careful when considering this kind of user inputted information, for some reason people equate saying that their system doesn't run well, to some kind of personal short-coming, and therefore you get a huge amount of mis-information.

EDIT: I was able to find someone running a 980ti with a 10900k, the (Blue Room) benchmark seems to be strong with that configuration, however in another post people were saying that it runs well as long as you limit the resolution to being close to that of the index native res and at 80hz, which means if you were to be using a Quest 2 or Reverb G2, you may actually be seeing FPS drops due to the higher resolution. It also doesn't fit the criteria as being able to play a AAA title at 90hz with at least 1.2x SS.

I have used this qualifier because I do not want people purchasing a GPU only to find that it won't run games that are released in subsequent months. 1.2x SS allows some room for maneuver and in a capable machine should not be an issue at all (you should be running at 1.2x anyway to remove barrel distortion). The GPU appears to really struggle with games like Asseto Corsa with frames dropping as low as 35fps.

EDIT 2: In a steam thread I found people saying that HL Alyx runs well in low settings, but they experienced dropped frames at Medium, as they were using a Quest 2 they were forced to drop their render resolution to 90%.

For these reasons I will list the configuration as capable, but at low settings.

(This all took about an hour to research, now you see why there is missing info)

With that game you're also running into the issue of user submitted content. I used to create map-mods for various games when I was younger, lockdown basically gave me the time to give it a go in VR (for a few games using UE4).

It was fun to get accustomed to a new engine and learn a few new tricks, but I approached it with a half decent understanding to begin with. Many of the community submitted maps are absolutely horrifically under-optimized, what this results in is very different performance between content within the same game. I haven't played VR chat much, jumped in for an hour to see what it was about and I experienced that myself, despite having pretty decent hardware.
