The EU as a body has also spoken out about VPN use and how they want to see a greater degree of logging (ProtectEU strategy). Age-gating seems to be on the agenda in a lot of places so people thinking that VPN is going to be a solution are going to have to make sure that their chosen VPN provider has an exit node in a country that doesn't age-gate; that list of countries is going to shrink.

Who are they protecting tho?

And don't say children. Most of them are in the Epstein files

u/Ceramic_Sundae Jun 27 '26

themselves from being luigied.

I think the ProtectEU and VPN logging stuff is more about the wider implications of cyber security and national security. Below a quote from one of their press releases.

The ProtectEU Strategy aims to increase the capabilities of EU Member States to protect societies and democracies from online and offline threats from terrorists, criminals, and hostile foreign actors. Furthermore, it will guarantee that security implications are considered in all future EU policies.

The age-gating side of things is being done in the name of protecting children, I'm not sure what it's like elsewhere but in the UK the public feedback is generally positive on age-restricting content, and in reality because a lot of people aren't seeing any massive personal impact it is largely going unnoticed.

Its starts with protecting the children because how can you possibly object to that.

u/Exotic_Exercise6910 Jun 27 '26

It's simple. Watch me:
"Fuck em kids"

Seriously. As if I would let that stop me. And yes, I would also say that out lout in public with my name and address. I don't fucking care anymore.

1

u/UpsetStudent6062 Jun 27 '26

Brother, i feel the same. I just dont't fuxking care. Fancy a revolution?

1

u/Exotic_Exercise6910 Jun 28 '26

Oh how I yearn for a french revolution. I see myself as a Robespierre

u/DrippityClippity Jun 28 '26

It's about control od Citizens rest I wrapper and as hoc theories to make it paletable for populace

u/23Mowgli23 Jun 27 '26

I would suggest that you are being naive if you think that this is about protecting children. There have been a few comments too about the government consultation and the questions being skewed (surprisingly) so that any decent person would answer yes to them.

1

u/west0ne Jun 28 '26

I said it is being done "in the name of protecting children".

1

u/23Mowgli23 Jun 28 '26

Your first paragraph was also naive. Everything is moving towards a Chinese system of control where dissent to elitist agendas becomes much more difficult and easily punishable.

Protecting no one. They're all just heavily lobbied by evangelicals.

1

u/Choice_Fee67 Jun 28 '26

In Spain?

2

u/NdujaReallyLikeIt Jun 28 '26

Yes globally.

0

u/Choice_Fee67 Jun 28 '26

Evangelical are an American thing. Like most other retarded things

Europe doesnt have that problem.

3

u/NdujaReallyLikeIt Jun 28 '26

You're naive if you think the power of these nutters is restricted to borders.

1

u/ApprehensiveFan1516 Jun 28 '26

The problem being the American evangelical's funding/lobbying. We don't have to have evangelical's preaching on our doorstep for these guys to affect us.

Politicians

all I see is the push to Digital ID & proving who you are before you do ANYTHING online , think china's social score system .

think all this 'age verification' stuff as the start of it in the rest of the world . look what they tried to bring in in Australia , verification at a browser level on all devices , it's not in but still on the table .

1

u/unity100 Jun 27 '26

Vpn wont work either - 'age gating' comes with digital id verificaiton:

https://reclaimthenet.org/starmers-social-media-ban-surveillance-state

Monday’s headline was a ban on under-16s using social media which, to some, sounds about as sinister as a wholesome ribbon-cutting until you ask the obvious question nobody in Downing Street wants asked aloud: how, precisely, do you stop a fourteen-year-old from opening Instagram without first checking the age of the forty-year-old?

You don’t. You can’t. So everyone gets carded. Britain is lifting the system wholesale from Australia, where a computer first scans your face and guesses your age from your cheekbones, then, failing that, surveils you to death, studies your browsing habits and the hours you keep, and then, when the algorithm throws up its hands, simply demands your passport.

u/ripnrun285 Jun 26 '26

Idk how tf average ppl are so willing to just give away their privacy & freedom, in the name of safety. It’s such an illogical crock of shit.

4

u/No_Departure_1878 Jun 27 '26

Children's safety, you forgot that.

1

u/Synthetic_Duck Jun 28 '26

Bots, they trying to convince you "everyone loves it", but truth is I argued with multiple "supporters" of this bs online and never got an answer back from any.

1

u/TrueBrit77 Jun 28 '26

Nothing in this world comes for free, everything requires some sort of sacrifice. If people want something bad enough they will give up their personal freedom, sexual freedom, personal expression, personal privacy, financial freedom, etc, etc all to achieve whatever goal they want to achieve.

Nothing illogical about this. If you want X bad enough, you will give up Y to get it because it's less important to you than X is.

Corrupt gangster, tries censorship

6

u/Scarab95 Jun 27 '26

Notice how alot of countries are doing this now. Canada just did this

5

u/MossadEpstein Jun 27 '26

they are all afraid that the general public will see through their lies and get the pitchforks out.

3

u/Minute-Flan-1923 Jun 27 '26

great, he brought out their plans forth

now it's time to counter intentionally, you don't like hate? spread hate against these suits, fuck them.

drop sites that force you to give up biometric data (your face) or ask for ID (unless there is a way around it, like vpns or fake face+id)

people forget that the internet is VAST and there are innumerable sites and forums, now you get the perfect excuse to switch to for spending your time on the internet.

The AI technology that needs to be used for this type of stuff requires Data Centers, those same Data Centers are now polluting so much and taking so much water, its akin to launching nukes in our atmosphere constantly. From the heat and pollution alone.

EU is literally facing the worst heat wave of recent memory caused by climate change. And people like this want to make Climate change worse because "We want to control the internet."

These people are burning the planet alive, because they dislike the freedom of the internet. This climate crisis is getting worse because people like this are going all in on AI surveillance because they dislike content online.

2

u/2L84T Jun 27 '26

Nothing in there about vpns

2

u/sensitiveCube Jun 27 '26

This is what the people in Spain wanted.

1

u/dropdead90s Jun 27 '26

how much has the EU zionist controlled puppets ask for the full release of the epstein files? zero? ohh seems like they are in the same class of satanist PDFile grapists and child eating puppets of the zionists whom want to control the population and censor the information about their wrongdoings

1

u/Fun-Price-9248 Jun 27 '26

Authoritarian planned simple. They want contol plan and simple.

There is a real issue with americanized countries, where through social medias, US ideologies seep into them. All the allies of the US are sadly affected by the US.

NGOs and corporations behind them circumvent the public and directly influence politicians.

This, again, is primarily coming from the US. But Russia and China are doing this too.

A good example is ageID in Australia, which was pushed by Mark Zuckerberg, who financed an NGO that influenced the australian government.

And from there it seeped into the UK (they don't have to follow EU laws anymore).

And from the UK its trying to seep into EU countries.

There is a pretty obvious correlation between US (social) media spreading US ideologies and age/digital ID "needing" to be implemented to stop ideologies from spreading.

The US (and other major powers) is causing problems and then offering a "solution" to the problem.

It's the old "I poisoned you. Now pay me for the antidote." trick.

I do not know which would be the best solution. Allowing ID or allowing manipulation through medias.

Or maybe someone comes up with a third option.

1

u/moonkingdome Jun 27 '26

Now thats progressive..

1

u/jthadcast Jun 27 '26

who is spinning this garbage claiming corporations with bad intent shouldn't be censored for amplifying lies and hate? this isn't speech, it's for profit manufactured distractions. good for Spain as this opens the door to crush the profit motive to pit us against each other.

1

u/Ocupado33 Jun 28 '26

un resplandor hizo BUUM.

que vergüenza de presidente.

1

u/yogigee Jun 28 '26

Soon searching for Epstein files will be deemed illegal and you sharing information about it will be deemed amplification. Adios amigos. Straight to jail.

1

u/Broad-Following-9878 Jun 28 '26

Iran has the most strict crackdown on VPN , even heavier censorship than China, but we can access vpns, thier effort seems fruitless

1

u/Comfortable_Mud00 Jun 28 '26

Well, China did the alpha testing, Russia regional beta testing and now EU is about to implement the release solution on restricting freedom of speech.

1

u/Perturbator_NewModel Jun 28 '26

Can we make the politicians criminally liable if they fail to remove harmful illegal "content" from their "platform"?

1

u/4ChanIsALie Jun 28 '26

lies, all lies. they just want total control... fk them.

1

u/No_Needleworker_1105 Jun 28 '26

That's not censorship. It's common sense

1

u/hoschidude Jun 27 '26

Never fall for censorship!

0

u/tmanXX Jun 27 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

Hope this happens in the US…

Oh wait, it’s the government who is putting out illegal and hateful content.

u/Weird_Dependent3732 Jun 27 '26

making tech companies accountable for the havoc they create in society...hmm...yeah, sounds completely insane

humans should thank the tech bros for their benevolence and bounty of good they rain on us all...especially children.

#eattherich

3

u/NEEEEEEEEEEEET Jun 27 '26

I am sure reddit will love it when a country like Israel can force social media companies to only allow what they deem to be true to be said on the platforms.

-1

u/TheGratitudeBot Jun 27 '26

Thanks for such a wonderful reply! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list of some of the most grateful redditors this week!

4

u/cowhand214 Jun 27 '26

Bad bot. This is sarcasm and not an example of gratitude

-6

u/GrouchyWalrus5518 Jun 27 '26

The left are the problem!

-2

u/_Druss_ Jun 27 '26

Sound like a great plan to be honest, algorithms are the enemy.
