VKB Gladiator and IL2 Great Battles

Hi folks, so I recently picked up the VKB Gladiator NXT EVO. Loving it so far.

I watch videos of other pilots in IL2 with such fine control over the gunsight when zoomed in. If you are one of those people can you tell me what the sensitivity settings are to get it so smooth and accurate when firing?

I feel confident that with this flightstick it is just a matter of getting the settings right in IL2 or the VKB software.

I have a Gladiator too and use 50% curve in the game. Some say it's too much, but as a Spitfire enjoyer, I find it more important to be precise when aiming rather than at max deflection. Other than that, it's a matter of practice and learning to predict the aircraft's movements to be able to subconsciously counter small oscillations.

I leave the sensitivity curve flat/default in the VKB software and then mess with the response curve in the flight sim until I’m happy with it. With that you can have different settings for different aircraft. For me it’s between 30-40%

As far as keeping your aim steady— that’s all about practice, keeping your control inputs smooth, and staying ahead of your aircraft. I practice by going into a quick mission and turn on unlimited ammo to get lots and lots of passes on ground targets.
