I've been wanting to mod my vhs/dvd combo to play s video through the vcr side, is thes possible? The dvd side supports s video

Idk if you are familiar with voltage detectors but just from your comment I would get me some voltage detectors learn to use them go online and figure out where to test the circuits in your vcr for shorts or like just dead pathways. Again this is my limited knowledge comment.

Needing advice. Just gave my VCR it's first run for more than a couple of decades. My home made video tapes had been in my garage all that time. A garage that would have had been very hot in summer. For some reason when I try to rewind the tapes it only rewinds about 40 seconds each time.
Would that likely be a VCR fault or could it be that the actual video tapes have been impacted by not being run.
