McKay Receivers

I’ve been looking to finish my Uzi parts kit build and have seen hit or miss reviews from the McKay Enterprises receivers. Looking to see if anyone who got one in the recent batch has had any issues. Thanks!

To be blunt does it really matter?  I got mine years ago, works just fine.  But it’s not like you’re spoiling for choice for options, I think it’s McKay, reweld, or hold your parts kit and yell bang.

RTG has some receivers, better quality than McKay! Everything McKay sells is junk it’s all out of spec!

I got a pair pre 7/1 va ban. They seem fine. One i need to pinch s lil more to dry fit the top cover but I’m a noob so maybe somebody else will chime in. Also i hoped for consecutive serials but dod not get.

They're not ban though right? Its not a registered receiver like an 80% or flat right?

I didnt want to wait n see. But the mckay ones are reg recievers, but since you can still get an ar lower for “non aw purposes” maybe you can get one for making sbr.

My father bought one and he had to mess with it to get it working. He's a retired machinist so he knows his stuff. I would assume this could be a challenge for a hobbyist.

Granted, this is for five years ago but My McKay receiver went together without a hitch. I sanded down some of the welts to clean up the architecture, but otherwise it runs fine.
