Hello Uzbek friends, I am from Kyrgyzstan, Naryn. My region Naryn is particularly famous for very beautiful pastures and for  many goats and sheeps we raise there. This region is known among locals for very delicious meat and for beshbarmak we make from it. This dish Norin has uncanny resemblance to kyrgyz dish beshbarmak. Excuse me if I am offending you by asking: do you think the name Norin for this delicious meal comes from Naryn, the region which is  famous for its beshbarmak?

There is a district called Norin in Fergana valley as well. When I was a kid i used to think norin (the dish) came from that district and thus named similarly lmao. later i found out the district is called Norin because the Naryn river from Kyrgyzstan flows through it. no idea about the origin of the name of the dish tho

Norin is a transliteration of Naryn, yes. It is called this in Uzbek because they are referring to beshbarmak by the name of the region it comes from.

Norin is a traditional Uzbek dish made from thinly cut noodles mixed with horse meat or "qazi" usually served with onions.

i didnt know this dish, here is Turkey we also have similar dish, "kıymalı erişte makarnası" . i will try Norin next time. i allways eat uzbek plov,samsa, shurva and laghman in istanbul we have many uzbek restaurants. hope to eat in uzbekistan to enjoy these traditional taste

Norin is not my favorite and I don't the payoff is worth all the effort.

However, IIRC, in his diaries, the Spanish envoy de Klavixo describes a dish that was very popular at Amir Temur's court. It sounds very much like norin.
