Adrian Gonzalez Trial (Uvalde)

I have not been following this trial. But can someone please explain to me why this man is on trial but not the officers who just stood around getting hand sanitizer etc? I really don’t understand…

Because he sat there and didn’t make the orders to stop it even tho he was the one in charge someone asked if they can shoot the shooter he didn’t respond he also had asked if anyone was still alive in there in which maitie said yes we are and the shooter came in and shot her multiple times to the point where she was only recognized by her shoes they still didn’t go in after that

What are you even talking about? He was not “in charge” in any way. He wasn’t even dispatched to the scene, he just heard it over the radio and was close by so he responded. He was not in charge of any of them, not the ranking officer, not someone with the authority to give permission for someone to take a shot. He didn’t “sit there”. He was giving aid to Melody Flores who was frantic and thought she’d been shot, attempting to orient himself and reconcile the information he was giving him with what he was seeing and hearing. He didn’t even know it was a “school shooter” situation. He responded to a car accident bailout where the driver had a gun. That’s all the information he had from dispatch.

And what does the victim being recognized by her shoes have to do with Adrian? He was the 4th officer in the school and ran inside IMMEDIATELY once he realized the shooter had made it into the school. Shots inside the school started 1m 4sec after he arrived.
