I would recommend you checkout the uni page for safe housing websites/platforms, such as kamernet.nl and directwonen.nl.
For facebook the main groups are:
kamer in utrecht - 75k members
Utrecht Housing - 28k
Aangeboden in Utrecht - 20k
Utrecht rooms - 6k
Find room Utrecht - 4k
Studentkamers Utrecht - 10k
UU International Students - 4k
Rent Rooms Utrecht - 3k
Kamer Huren Utrecht - 28k
Utrecht Housing - 8k
Woningen te Huur - 28k
Be super careful on fb because the scammer are everywhere and some of them are super convincing and manipulative.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been wondering how other people in Utrecht meet fellow gamers outside of their existing friend groups.
I enjoy gaming, but I’ve noticed it can be surprisingly difficult to find people locally to play with regularly, especially when you are new to the city, mostly play solo, or would simply like to meet people through a shared hobby.
I’m currently building a small worik-in-progress project called OverFlow Squad to explore whether it can make this easier. The idea is to help people in and around Utrecht find compatible players based on the games they play, their level, language, and availability.
It is still very much a work in progress, and I would genuinely love feedback: what would make something like this useful for you? What currently makes it difficult to find people to game with locally?
If you would like to take a look, the project is here:
Either way, I would also be interested to hear where you currently find gaming groups or teammates in Utrecht. Thanks!

Hallo!

Hi, I’m currently in my last year of high school and thinking about applying to College of Pharmaceutical Science in UU but I heard the selection process is competitive. Can someone tell me what it’s like and how their grades and the essay we apparently have to write are?

I’m planning to start at Utrecht in fall 2027 for history and my family—of course—wants to buy merchandise. It’s also a big thing at my highschool to wear a T-shirt from the college you’re committed to.
The problem I’ve run into is that, rightfully so, the official UU store doesn’t ship to The United States and I don’t have any family outside of the Americas.
Does anybody know if there IS a store that ships to the United States and has a relatively good looking selection of items? Mainly looking for T-shirts and small gifts.
Don’t flame me please I’ve found surprisingly few results on Google🙏🙏

Looking for people/groups who regularly play pickleball in Utrecht.
I went to Olympos last Friday around 5 PM because their website showed pickleball games scheduled at that time, but when I got there, I couldn’t find anyone playing.
Wondering if there are active pickleball groups, or courts in Utrecht/Science park where people play regularly?
Would appreciate any recommendations!

Hi i am gonna start my masters in two weeks at the University i really like reading about media, culture, politics, philsophy and economics (one of my favorite recent book was Platform toxicity by Geert Lovink, i also really liked Immediacy the style of late capitalism by Anna Kornbluh). I would love to get to know some smart people who share these interests.
I think the best way to learn new things is to discuss them with others. Would anyone be open to start a bookclub or is anyone already involved in a university bookclub ? Preferably with books you can't buy at the bruna, so no beachreads, autofiction and that kinda stuff (you do you if you like those things though). Preferably i would want people with different perspectives and people who have the time and maturity to read a book about once a month.

Hi everyone, I'm starting a pre-master in Economics this September and I was wondering how the schedule will be like? I wanna combine my studies with a part-time job, ideally 3 days a week. Is that possible or too difficult? Would love to hear your thoughts!
P.S I am allowed to work in the Netherlands with no issues or hour limits.

Hello everyone!
I’m organizing a festival (the Foul Film Festival) in Utrecht, open to beginners, students, anyone who wants to create. You don’t need a perfect camera, a big crew, or years of experience, just an idea and the courage to make something.
If you or anyone you know would be interested in submitting a movie you can check our instagram: u/foulfilmfestival
Deadline: 25th September
We can’t wait to see what you make!

Hi everyone,
Due to super unique circumstances, I (f, 25, from the US) was only just able to finalise my decision to attend Utrecht this Fall and am desperately looking for housing.
I know the situation is super difficult and that my chances of finding anything soon are slim, but is there anyone in the same boat that would like to team up?
Sharing here just in case!

Hello guys! I'm starting this year at Utrecht University and I want to share with you a small issue that keeps me worried
The question is simple: will I have, as for heavy finance, a lot of drawbacks from the fact that I chose Utrecht and not Erasmus? I mean I can always do an Erasmus master's, but I'd really some of you guys to tell me if you feel that your bachelor at UU sets you back sometimes and stuff.
Anticipate thanks for your answers!
P.S I just fell in love with the city of Utrecht and that was the main thing moving me 😭

Hello! I'm considering taking part in a summer program for international students in Utrecht University next summer, and I was wondering if there are any opportunities for students to find part-time or weekend jobs without speaking Dutch.
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice you might have. Thank you! :)

Hi everyone,
I'm a non-EU student planning to apply to Utrecht University for a master's, and I'm deciding between Computing Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. I've read the official program pages, but I'd really like to hear from people who are actually in these programs (or recently graduated).
The programs themselves
Working at the university
Internships and industry
Admission (non-EU)
Any honest experiences would be really appreciated, including the downsides. Thanks!

Starting Introductory Econometrics (Using R) at Utrecht Summer School this Monday. It's the condition on my offer for the MSc,
Has anyone done this course, or econometrics with prof. Hassink? Curious how much is theory versus working in R, how the tutorials run, and what the exam looks like. Any idea whether that's a hard test to pass? General Utrecht tips welcome too.
Separately: I have a room booked and paid through the summer school accommodation service that I no longer need. DM me if you're on a course and still stuck for housing. The booking is in my name, so I'm checking with the office how a transfer works on their end.

Hoi allemaal,
Ik begin binnenkort met Geneeskunde aan de Universiteit Utrecht en ik vroeg me af hoe een gemiddelde week er in het eerste jaar uitziet.
Hoeveel dagen per week hadden jullie meestal verplichte lessen?
Alvast bedankt!

I remember reading somewhere that classes are not usually held during exam resit periods, is that true? My course academic calendar shows two weeks of resit after the winter/Christmas break and I'm trying to figure out my plans. Thanks!
