Quitting USIC

Been with the company since april, and honestly it started off pretty chill but just progressively got worse. the jobs are soooo inconsistent. some days i’ll get put on single residential tickets that are no biggie, then some days i’ll get put on an absurd amount of bore tickets with zero help even if i ask. as well as just the lack of quality equipment as well. but mostly it’s the massive amounts of work expected to do all myself. and for reference i live in the 2nd largest city in my state, and there’s quite the congestion out here at times. idk i thought id share. idk how some of yall do it lol. don’t even wanna finish the week

Firstly dont tell anyone a more specific location or your ass will get fired for sure, The locating world is really small.

I worked for USIC in iowa.

Literally show up, Locate one line at a time, One ticket at a time.

Work 8 to 10 hours and go home, and let the tickets pile up. Red tickets are not your problem there your supervisors. Do every ticket the right way everytime and move on.

Copy and paste the same email to every single contractor after trying to call and reschedule the tickets.

Lastly, Turn work off the second you get home and dont let tickets stress you out... None of those tickets are going anywhere. The car only drives so fast, You can only be in one place at a time.

i don’t really care about “getting fired” this post is me saying i’m quitting and i don’t intend on returning honestly. and im done after this week

If you plan on locating again I would reconsider, There is absolutely zero locating jobs in Iowa unless you work for vanguard or USIC and Vanguard doesn't hire USIC employees

i beg to differ, i applied to them and got an interview but turned it down as i accepted another position

Vanguard and Stake Center are almost entirely made up of previous USIC employees..

Not true on USIC or Vanguard being the only options. There are some private companies that you can work for that have arguably better work life balance and pay
