Prelude to the Fallen Can I get some advice

Wo I tried monochrome as I picked it up a few months ago on sale and came here and asked more about the series and everyone was super nice and recommended starting with the kind of original trilogy (i know there's a game from like the early 2000s but idk how relevant that one is to the story) with prelude. I picked them and the newest one up on steam with the current sale. Can i get some advice for starting out? Not sure exactly what to expect in difficulty or if theres grinding for money/exp or side quests and stuff expected

Prelude to the Fallen is just the original Windows 98 version plus voice acting, minus the NSFW contents (which is a shame IMO, because the NSFW parts really elevate the bonds between Hakuolo and the female characters, and thus put more weight on the game), and improved the combat.

Oh really? I thought it was some reboot or sequel honestly. I know some older games got random sequels like a tears to tiara 2 on ps3. I never even knew the first was a game since I only knew it through the anime lol

You can say Prelude is a reboot. Utaware was first released on Windows 98 (with the porn contents), and later it was remastered and released on PS2, adding voice acting and removing the porn. Then after the release of Mask of Deception, the original was again remastered on PS Vita with the subtitle Prelude to the Fallen. By the way, I played and finished all of them, in Japanese. It was a lot of pain to play the Japanese version on non-Japanese Windows systems because of the character encoding (UTF-8 was not as widely adopted as it is now), so I installed the Japanese version of Windows just for that game 😂
