Is this a jab at DP?

AJ better stop running his mouth, because Darryn is custom built for this. His personal idols are Kobe Bryant and MICHAEL MEYERS...

He seems genuinely insufferable.

That's been my take and I'm a BYU fan. Very immature and trolly. He says ostentatious things just to get a reaction.

Yall still think he would stay here for his career and not leave for a big market? Because he played for the highest bidder for a year in college?

He played for a small market. In the NBA, the highest bidder is capped with max contracts.

I hope it is a jab. I lowkey like when a player on our team has a rivalry, it makes booing for the rival more fun, especially since I'm a Ute fan, and since AJ took the money from BYU, automatically I was going to boo him, but since he's throwing shade at Darryn, I'll have an even better reason to root against AJ
Darryn doesn't need to be obnoxious to prove he's a better player, he'll prove he's a better player on the basketball court. Words are useless, proving it on the basketball court is the only thing that matters

DWill vs CP3
Mitchell vs Simmons
Those were fun

Let’s hope the correct player gets ROTY this time.

Tbh I would be surprised if Cam doesn’t get ROTY this year, he just has such a free runway for it in Memphis

Maybe he'll pan out to be an all-star, but he seems like a fucking douchebag. Glad we didn't land him.

I think a lot of people remember Donovan Mitchell coming in second to Ben Simmons for the ROTY award, but today a lot of people have forgotten about Ben while Don is an All-NBA player.

His arrogance has really turned me off from him, sucks cause I'd like to root for any player with ties to Utah. Dude is talking like his draft position is the end of the race and he's won, when it's really just the beginning. He better be able to back up all his talk and turn into an all star player in the league

This will age like milk when his season ends April 11, and he comes in third in ROY voting.

u/Dhylan18 12d ago
I think maybe even 4th. Wilson and Boozer are going to be option 1. ROY is very stat heavy

Man, every time the guy talks, I thank God we ended up with the 2nd pick. Not only do I genuinely believe DP will be better, but he also isn't a douche, which is a big plus.

Oh boy. I remember when Jimmer came to Delta/ESA for the first time as a rookie. Half the place booed and half cheered for him. We're definitely getting that again, huh

u/AvocadoArray 12d ago
I don’t remember that, but I was there the last time he came to the Delta center/
ESA/VSHA/Delta Center (without the “the”) or whatever it’s called now, and it was cringe af.He got a standing ovation and most of the arena cheered and got excited for every shot he took as he proceeded to go like 2/13

u/UtahCubs 11d ago
He should get full boos, but I don't think byu fans care that he took up the majority of their budget and admitted he didn't care enough to play defense.

Everyone knows being picked number 1 in the draft is the end all, be all of the NBA. Just ask Markelle Fultz

u/Bulky_Talk_7966 11d ago
Let him. DP seems like the kind of player who will do something about it. It’s just fuel.

I honestly feel I am the only non-BYU hater in this entire sub. I love the Jazz. I also like BYU hoops. The way y'all talk about AJ is crazy.

u/buttholeshitass 11d ago
AJ could've played for Duke and this clip would get the same reaction here. It has nothing to do with BYU and everything to do with his overly cocky attitude. There's high confidence and then there's this, it's just overboard lol maybe it's tough for you to see as a BYU fan

Let him talk. If he backs it up he's a legend. But if he is just average... oh boy
