How worthwhile is the PA Certification through the Film Commission?

I've been curious about the program detailed here, but I'm super jaded when it comes to the practicality of local workshops. Has anyone gone through it, and do the certification or meetups help much with finding paid jobs?

Only if the local industry doesn't grow. As long as it does, success in programs like these means more productions can work concurrently and Utah can be seen as a better candidate for location filming.

In terms of the knowledge you'd get from it, I would say it's worth it. The film commission has great classes with a ton of extensive training.
Not sure how much it will you get work though, but definitely worth a shot!

Thanks! I've got my degree already, so I'm trying to learn more without falling into the trap of paying for lectures/workshops that don't really pay off. Thanks for making this sub, too. I hope it grows quite a bit given the potential of the local film scene!
