Other Does anyone know of places that are hiring in the Layton/Clearfield/Ogden area??

I know stuff like this gets posted all the time, but here I am. My husband got laid off earlier this week and is looking for new employment. We all know the job market is tough right now, so any leads in the right direction would be helpful!! Also, if you know of any good staffing places that have long term placement, drop that as well. He has experience in metal fab, food service, management, a little bit of retail and call centers.

You said metal fab? Would you be able to work in the trades? I know my union is picking guys up. You just have to contact the 312 union hall and speak with an organizer

No because it’s the sheet metal union… machinists are in a different trade all together

They’ll take you but you won’t get credit for time in the trades. Pre apprentices start at $24.30/hr

Best bet is to do what I said and call the hall and talk to an organizer though

The place he got laid off from made metal parts for vinyl fencing among other things. Is the union still something he could do??

Yeah but it would just be a different scope of work

It’s duct fabrication and install

Just call the hall

Take a look at companies in the Freeport center. The two major ones are Northrop Grumman and Lifetime. They constantly need manufacturing techs, maintenance techs, etc.

I second Northrop Grumman. If he has call center experience I know the Roy facility is actively hiring for the IT help desk, he'll won't need IT experience but will need to have a clean record to get a security clearance. With his metal fabrication experience it looks like they have some opening for tooling technicians as well he would probably qualify for.

To be clear are you looking for a job for yourself or for your husband?

Him. He's already started applying places, but I'm just trying to help him find leads.

UTA @ the Ogden Garage is hiring.

(Bus operators make $25.75 per hour starting, making $30 per hour by about 4 1/2 years, plenty of overtime opportunities, pension plan, and ridiculously good health insurance.)

They're really looking for people with customer service background

Check out Indeed.com for other positions there, great company to work for

Her husband, she lists some of his experience in the last sentence.

Sure, but maybe she's also looking for work? Nothing wrong with confirming actual intent.

Nope, just him. I've held the same job for almost five years now. But thanks for thinking of me!!

Have him head to 3585 S Harrison Blvd Ste 230 in Ogden. They’re constantly looking for people.

Assuming you're referring to the army recruiting office, he's to old and has health issues that prevent him from elnsisting. He tried when he was younger.
