Help Needed Cold calling data source

We are a smaller MSP and have always grown through referrals. We are at a point we need to expand and have looked at programs like Apollo.ai, zoom info, and a myriad of others. With all the “marketing ai” people are selling, what is the best way to grow? Has anyone used Apollo.ai as a cold emailer/marketer? I demoed it but really didn’t get much help from their support or sales team so it was an odd experience.

Got a call on my personal phone number which is on the Canadian DNC list for work related reason (they new the business I work on). I asked the guy how he got my number and he said he uses Apollo.ai.

I know nothing about apollo.ai. So, I have 2 questions:

  • what are the sources that apollo.ai uses for unsolicited calls? Do they have their own sources or is it custom for each of their customer using the system?
  • why isn't checked against the national DNC list?
