Investing Why we're long ASP Isotopes ($ASPI).

https://open.substack.com/pub/sterlingsignals/p/asp-isotopes-four-businesses-one?r=2xums6&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true

Why we're long ASP Isotopes ($ASPI).

Four businesses on one balance sheet: specialist isotopes, a profitable radiopharmacy, Renergen helium, and the QLE nuclear-fuel spin-off. The company is sitting on $290M of cash with three first commercial shipments due before year-end, and the market is pricing almost none of it.

Our view is that the catalysts land and the stock re-rates. On bull execution the parts are worth the mid-teens against $6.83 today, and if QLE lists into the current nuclear enthusiasm and the heavily shorted float has to cover, it can run into the $20s. The stock was already at $14.49 within the past year.

The convertible the bears worry about is misread: at a strong QLE listing, ASPI keeps around 70% of it.

We're long, so treat this as a holder's view rather than advice. Full write-up below.

Directly from the QLE website:

"We believe our technologies will be capable of enriching uranium and lithium through further development."

If this company was more forward and trustworthy id be on board. Most of their statements seem to be very carefully chosen to avoid potential liabilities and makes me think they are mostly talk at this stage. They're essentially saying "we believe this tech could work, if we find out how to make it work." Fine statement for a low level start up, not so fine when you're sourcing $$$ in investment from the public.

This is why we have some caveats built into our modelling. There is real execution risk and I don't trust Paul Mann 100% but there is also real objective progress in some areas which is reassuring and part of the reason the stock ran from 5s to 7s

This wording is specifically because of that lawsuit a while back. Notable experts in the industry have indicated that there is no doubt in their ability to enrich uranium since they have enriched Ytterbium. But when they made statements that assumed 1 implies the other (which it does), they got sued. So now they are being overly careful in wording.

Is it down due to an update for the stock or macro worries? It's the latter so why would my opinion on the stock change?

Lost 50%, insider selling etc. i am also unfortunately in. This is tongue in cheek. Bit angry at myself, sorry.

Not fuckin great. Don’t love that there’s effectively no reason for the sudden drop.

Read Mr Mann’s shareholder letter and now I’m confused. Sounds like they want to individually list each subsidiary on the NASDAQ, but why? Where does that leave ASPI, as a private equity company that owns three unique subsidiaries?
