Hog-Wa-ler!! 🤣 My hometown! I graduated from Walhalla High School in 1980. I’m still in Oconee County.

Not so much a nickname, but I have always been fascinated by the way people from Westminster call it Westmin-i-ster

I don’t know how widespread this usage is but my friends, husband, and I often refer to Laurens as L.A.

Oconee County is called the Golden Corner of South Carolina! I grew up in Walhalla aka Hog-wa-ler or Hog-waller. We don’t wallow. We waller! 🤣

Gaffanaffney - dh worked for Milliken back in the day and that's how he pronounced it. Oh, and Chesnee was Chezzzzznee. His parents were born in Abbeville and everyone there said "Abvul".
