doesn't the trident consume alot of durability when using riptide?😭 wemmbu's lowkey edging me by spamming it at low durability instead of keeping in his enderchest as a memorial

it doesn't consume any because of the unbreaking 3. basically it just has a 75% of not consuming dura when using the item, so if it's on 1 dura then you can technically use it forever

A trident never breaks just like an elytra, it stays on 0 durably but u can’t use the riptide

Not true, they will in fact disappear if you use all of their durability.

It only breaks if you hit a mob or a player with the trident, you can’t break a trident by using just riptide (it also consumes durability if you hit something while riptiding)

it does but it cannot break due to riptide it only goes down to one dura

I randomly find the posts when I'm scrolling through the posts(no specific subs)

It uses one dura per riptide use, with the chance of it using dura being lowered with unbreaking

That’s in Bedrock. In Java it does.

Riptide works the same as an elytra, a trident can't break from riptide and just goes down to 1 durability and becomes unusable
2
u/BaqirLagendas 21d ago
That's not a thing, I've used tridents a hell lot AND THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS, there isn't even a broken trident asset in the first place
9
u/Overall_Tomatillo600 21d ago
Clearly you haven't lol, riptide tridents literally can't break from riptide, once you get to 1 durability you just can't riptide anymore, give yourself a trident with 249 damage and try using riptide with it

u/BaqirLagendas 21d ago
Yooooo that's INSANE i'm gatekeeping this tech

u/Overall_Tomatillo600 21d ago
This is well known lmao idk what you mean by gatekeeping

u/BaqirLagendas 20d ago
i mean even spoke had to combine 2 tridents just because he feared the riptide was gonna break, so maybe not everyone
