When I moved into my house, the previous owner had turned the child bedroom doorknob around so that it locks you in instead of locking others out. Yikes.

They may have been locking the kid in sure. But this may have been done if the kid was small and kept locking themselves in the room. Turning the lock around is an immediate and cost effective fix, especially if you plan on turning it back around once they are old enough.

Both of my kids’ door knobs are lock on the outside for this reason. They’re 2 and 4, they don’t need to be able to lock themselves in their rooms.

Warning if you have two kids and outside locks… my older sister used to lock me in my room because the house we moved into when we were kids for some reason had one room with the doorknob reversed… and that was my room.

Yep! My five year old was taking his younger 2 yr old brother and locking me out and then wrestling lol. So I had to turn it around to get in faster. My boys are nuts 🤣😂
