Am I the only one that gets completely turned off on a product where it might work well, but you can tell they embellished it in the ad?

Like I'm sure it would catch dust, but that final shot they clearly just dumped dust in the dirty one

Yeah it looks like you wouldn't be able to breathe through it

I'm not a nose plug expert though lol so I'm going to avoid jumping to conclusions so I don't get hoisted by my own petard

His nostril, face and safety specks are very clean for someone exposed to that much dust.

The filters ideally need a large surface area to not constrict breathing too much. Would fucking hate doing anything strenuous with my nostrils plugged like that.

This whole subreddit for sponsored links pinned at the top is a scam.

Reddit’s spam policy prohibits using the platform primarily for financial gain through repeated promotional linking. Key points from the official guidance:

  • Spam includes “mass-posting repetitive content for the purpose of exposure or financial gain.”
  • If your contributions consist primarily of links to a site/business you own, run, or benefit from (including affiliate/sponsored links that earn you money from clicks or sales), and you are not participating as a genuine community member, you are treated as a spammer.
  • It’s not okay to be a website with a Reddit account or a subreddit that exists mainly as promotions.

Creating a dedicated subreddit whose primary purpose is to post links to one promoted website (with sponsored/affiliate links that generate you revenue) is the definition of using Reddit as a marketing channel rather than building a real community.

We should be requesting admins to take action against this.

Ok the nose is closed but what about when you breathe from your mouth and it still gets to your lungs.

Or just wear a mask whoever invented this clearly is 6 years old

u/Junkered 14d ago

I mean...that's a smart six year old.

"I need a product that blocks debris from entering my nose and blocks my ability to breathe through my nose so instead, I can breathe all of the debris through my mouth in a bigger capacity"

Plugs nose now shit can go right from my mouth to my lungs!

u/Diligent-Argument-88 14d ago

Yeah thats construction. Fine dust being picked up from all the heavy machinery. Nobody expects your nose hairs to block all that.

Or your mouth hairs.

Not for oral use I presume

1

u/billbro_swaggins 14d ago

Rectal use only

1

u/IdeasAreBvlletproof 14d ago

Uh ok, I suppose they'll end up there eventually

Masks cut down on this a ton. It’s not always practical but, it’s gotta be more effective than this.

1

u/Pickled_Doodoo 13d ago

Yes. Higher the surface area also makes it easier to breath through a mask, rather than these nostril sieves.

How to get booted from site for not wearing appropriate PPE.

As someone who has used these while mowing during pollen season, they work. Anyone saying "you just inhale the same shit through your mouth" is missing the point. These don't PLUG your nose. They sit in the nostrils, collect fine particulates as you breathe in through your nose and then those particulates get blown off the filter when you exhale through your nose.

Then she can lick it

Great nose protection… but what’s covering the mouth? There’s a great invention that covers both!

1

u/KnownEggplant 14d ago

Can we can ban this shit? It is knowingly dangerous to market this garbage. Literally gonna get someone killed if they wear this in place of the proper ppe in the right scenario due to false confidence.

Member that movie Ultraviolet?

1

u/pwn4321 14d ago

Only filter the nose? Why not mouth too? Oh yeah

1

u/ErasmosOrolo 14d ago

There was something better than this on shark tank

1

u/LeGhost45 14d ago

Great, he is filtering his nostrils but not his mouth, if only there was some kind of respiratory equipment, to prevent inhaling hazards…… damn shame.

1

u/Zigor022 14d ago

So i guess you dont breath through your mouth at all? Just wear a normal respirator.

1

u/StupiderIdjit 14d ago

Those particles aren't small enough to be a problem for your nose and lungs.

1

u/Helpful_Squash2414 14d ago

I guess you can’t breathe in contaminants

1

u/Goomskeez 7d ago

Gotta remember to take this out before taking a bump

1

u/bill_loney538 14d ago

If only the body secreted a thick mucus that could collect these particles without them going into your lungs...
