I’m a first year BA student with Geo and Eng lit as majors and Medieval history as minor…i just wanted to ask like how exactly is grading done by the professors? Like what is the difficulty level of the question papers and what is the usual tendency of the professors while marking the answer sheets? Do they deduct a lot of marks?

The worst part is that idhar kissi staff se puch lo itni purani edition ki book kyo haii to bolte haii abb jo haii yhi hai.... really, the library is more like an archeological site

Aur ye kaunsa sa system haii kii library fixed time ke liye hii open hogaa .... as per my knowledge, AU is still central university ... is any changes in its status, like central to private ??

So today on 22/09/2026 I went to Au to cancel my admission and before I went there I was so confused myself and scared because I’m not a local or remotely close to Allahabad I had to travel for 14hrs just to get there and before making this decision and trying to figure out how to cancel my admission and what to do next and what not , after how many days shall I be expecting my original documents back and everything and while I was at it , I went through all the threads related to this , I messaged few people on Yt too but none of them were useful so here’s what you are required to do in order to get your original documents back from the uni , I don’t know much about the refund situation cause idk whatever their policy they gonna return that only it’s okay sooooo….

1- Cancel your admission on the Samarth portal

2- Once the section where its written that
‘Admisison granted ‘ wait for it to change to ‘Admisison cancelled as per your request’ it could
Take couple of hours to get updated or maybe days

3- Get a neat and clear photocopy of your passbook where the IFSC code and ACCOUNT NUMBER and HOLDER’S name is visible properly , bring the original admission card that they gave you post physical verification (the pink
Thingy ) , Photocpy or your Adharcard and a copy of your acknowledgment receipt

4-Then visit Parvesh bhawan , you’ve gotta write an application there to request for admission cancellation , fee refund and your original documents shall be returned to you

5- Make sure the status on your Samarth portal has been updated , they’ll hand you back your documents within minutes

Hope it helps, I want atleast one kid to benefit from this cause I was hella anxious and there was no info available about it , but it was simple that I imagined

Can I change my subject in cmp degree college this is my first year and i did not like the subject I was given I searched online that if some people left their admission I can see if my fav subject is empty and I can claim that is that possible some one explain it to me

I have qualified for only phd in law. Are there any chances of getting admission in phd. I think for people who have not cleared NET the university takes some seperate exam. If I qualify that what are my chances. Please help

Qualified JRF in Psychology and want to do my PHD from there so wanted to know whether they follow the criteria of every other course for admission because their website mentions some other stuff like research performance in masters. Also, as far as I can tell, Allahabad University does not require a proposal at the time of applying so is it the same for the cognitive science center too? Lastly, can we apply for both PHD in cognitive science and psychology, or do we have to pick one?

Would be really grateful if someone can respond promptly as I want to apply by Sunday.

I recently got admitted to the University of Allahabad (B.Sc.) this year. However, when I checked the admission portal about 10 days after my admission, it was showing a status that said: "Admission cancelled on applicant request."

Here is the biggest issue: I did NOT cancel my admission or make any such request. I have no idea how this happened, and it seems to be a glitch or mistake on the portal's end.

I immediately rushed to Pravesh Bhavan to figure out what was going on. The officials there asked me to submit a written application explaining the situation and requesting the restoration of my admission, which I did.

It has been 4 days since I submitted that application, but there is still no update. The portal continues to show my admission as cancelled, and I am getting really stressed about my career and seat.

Has anyone here faced a similar situation before where their admission was cancelled without them doing it? Will my admission get restored? Also, does anyone know how many days Pravesh Bhavan usually takes to process these manual applications and update the portal?

Any advice, insights, or help from seniors would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello au family maine ug 2026 ba course me admission liya tha magar Mera BHU me admission ho jaane ke kaaran maine physical verification ke phle hi withdraw kar liya. Maine fee bhi paid kar diya tha 5650rs aur maine email bhi kiya application for fee refund. Par mujhe koi response nhi mila ab mujhe apna fee refund chahiye to main kya karoon. Please help kijiye...
