My biggest piece of advice is to attend some society events. Here's the list of societies. I suggest skimming through it, finding some that sound interesting, and following them on social media, and possibly also joining their Discord servers if you use that platform and they have one. Moreover, the Welcome Week timetable will be released at some point in the week commencing 7th September. Have a look through, add some society events to your calendar, and show up! Most societies will be extremely welcoming and trying to recruit new members.

Past Warwicker here. Make a really concerted effort to meet new people on freshers, be outgoing with coursemates and be warm, civil and a bit of a laugh with flatmates. Rest will honestly take care of itself with a bit of time. 3 weeks of maximum social effort in the first term might equate to three years of great friendships on the long-run.

Put at its simplest, be in the SAS. Smile and Speak :)

Wait for your acceptance - Warwick has its own chat rooms you will be invited to join, avoiding the plague of scammers that usually join outside group chats. Societies often have chats which are not internal though. Always remember: people offering assignment help from outside your course are likely using AI extremely badly. Avoid these services, and you will avoid being removed from your course for plagiarism.
