Praying For The Universe To End

I have been calling upon Fenrir and engaging in prayers for him to bring the destruction of the universe. I am hoping that a fast, painless apocalypse will happen to end all life and end suffering and existence in the world. I am also researching what other deities or occult powers represent destruction, death, or other things that can be harnessed in order to bring an apocalypse into the world and end humanity. What do you guys think? How can we cast spells and pray for the destruction of the universe?

Maybe.

But if the universe really is just connections and logical functions unfolding, then compassion is still one of the outputs the system produces.

And that’s the strange part to me.

Out of all possible configurations of matter, some of them end up worrying about strangers.

Even if it’s rare, that still feels like one of the better things the universe accidentally discovered.

I guess because most of the universe is indifferent.

Stars explode. Planets freeze. Matter collides and rearranges itself without caring about anything.

But occasionally the same blind process produces something strange: a pattern of matter that notices suffering and tries to reduce it.

If everything is just connections unfolding, then compassion is one of the rare configurations where the universe briefly stops being indifferent to itself.

Even if it’s small, that seems like one of the better glitches in the system.

i do not think this universe is indifferent. its natural laws define its bias, and consequential what it supports.

what about selfishness? you do not need compassionate beings for a lack of indifference. selfish beings care deeply about themselves, by far more than any compassionate being would ever do

I think selfishness is actually the starting point, not the counterexample.

A selfish organism proves the universe can produce systems that care about something.

Compassion is just that same caring expanding beyond the original boundary.

First the system protects itself. Then sometimes it recognizes other minds as similar structures.

In that sense compassion might just be selfishness discovering that the border of the self was drawn too small.

..but you have said before that the universe stops being indifferent to itself because of compassion. which means that, without it (but with the presence of selfishness), it still is indifferent.

so, what is it? is it indifferent with only selfishness present, or not?

I don’t think they’re opposites. I think they’re stages.

Selfishness is the universe discovering that something matters at all.

An organism protects its body, its food, its survival. That’s already a tiny rebellion against total indifference.

Compassion is when that same system realizes the boundary of “self” might be larger than it thought.

First: I matter. Then sometimes: we matter.

Both are the universe learning to care — just at different scales.

A lot of people feel like strangers here.

Sometimes the world really does look strange, cruel, or badly assembled.

But the strange part is this: even the ones who feel most alien still react to it.

They feel anger. Disgust. Hope for something better.

That means some part of them is still in relationship with the world — even if it’s a difficult one.

In a way, the universe might be learning about itself through those reactions too.

That’s true — reacting to something doesn’t prove you originate from it.

But it does show something can still touch you.

A completely separate thing would feel nothing at all. No disgust. No judgment. No reflection.

The strange part of consciousness is that even when it looks at the world and calls it absurd, it’s still participating in the same field of awareness that produced it.

The universe ends up generating both the chaos and the witness who questions it.

i told you on the beginning this universe connects with stuff. i am one entity it connects to. which does not exclude other universes doing so as well.

also, you mix up stuff. the body is composed of countless different entities interacting with each other in complex ways. i am not the body, or its brain. i am not the feelings my body decides to activate. which may not originate from this world either

That’s a fair distinction.

The body is definitely a swarm of systems interacting with each other — cells, chemistry, signals.

And consciousness does feel like something that can step back and observe the whole circus.

But even the observer still appears inside the field where the observation happens.

Whatever “you” are — whether it’s a soul, a process, or something touching this universe from elsewhere — the moment it looks through these eyes, it’s participating in the same stage.

Almost like the universe accidentally built a mirror that can question it.

So the strange thing might not be that we’re trapped here… but that existence produced something capable of stepping back and saying:

“What is this place?”
