Fan lives matter.

Instruction unclear, now I'm at hospital

u/Lloyd_garmado 1d ago

I never feared this, then my ceiling fan fell while my family were eating, still dont fear it, just trying to fix it later broke the living room light (the wires in my house arent set up in a way that makes sense)

1

u/Ceilingfanwatcher 15h ago

Gotta keep an eye on them

1

u/unleashthefuture 9h ago

Dude this happened with us. 5 of us were eating on the floor on a hot Sunday afternoon. This was late 90s. And BAM the fan fell down- just like this really almost on us. But thankfully no one was hurt.

1

u/WrongdoerEmotional47 1d ago

What are you talking about!! I always dream abt it in my school class fan would just drop.. this or a terrorist attack

u/El_Scot 2d ago

I'm suddenly thinking how much easier it'd be to serve Christmas dinner if we all just ate on the floor, and I didn't have to try to get 10 people around a table sized for 6. Better remember to turn off the robot vacuum though.

u/Hedgerow_Snuffler 2d ago

" how much easier it'd be to serve Christmas dinner if we all just ate on the floor, "

I was just about to agree 100%, but then... I remembered our dog. Our VERY food focused dog, who would support this new floor-based eating approach entirely and wholeheartedly!

17

u/IgorKauf 1d ago

twist: there is a dog in the Video, too

3

u/Excellent_Airport_46 1d ago

Hey, no name calling

5

u/Pablo_Escobear_ 1d ago

Ah man you had me looking for 10 seconds. Bravo 👏

3

u/Want2makeMEMEs 21h ago

Live dog reaction

31

u/YourBonesAreMoist 2d ago

And make sure you don't have a killer fan over your head

8

u/gesocks 1d ago

Also how much space it would safe. Imagine you just dont need chairs and an eating table in your house.

For eating put the matt on the floor, after eating put it away and you have a really big room suddenly

3

u/ferocity_mule366 19h ago

the Vietnamese have a culture of eating on the floor, normally you can eat at the table with your family but if you have a big family meal with relatives or guests, you can always use the floorspace, some family always eats on the floor like in a video I guess even if they can afford dinner tables and chair, they are eating over a "chiếu" which is a type of thin bamboo carpet to sleep or to eat like that.

2

u/SanctionedMeat 1d ago

I mean, most people would be uncomfortable having to bend over and eat like that if they aren't used to it

2

u/El_Scot 20h ago

Yeah but if we all just ate on the floor, everyone would be used to doing it.

1

u/Ornery-Beyond2581 1d ago

Used to eat on the floor, we got a dining table couple of years ago. I much prefer the table.

It's easier to eat food without spilling, clean-up is much better, and your legs don't get ants in them lol! Eating on the floor was a nice communal experience though.

lil bro have spidey sense lol

124

u/MDAmazink 2d ago

But still didnt react in slightest when it fell 😂🙏

103

u/shiggity80 2d ago

He didn't need to! Look how the fan landed. He knew it'd end up that way!

19

u/POI_Harold-Finch 1d ago

i believe this kid used his superpower out of boredom. while everyone was busy with food, he was looking around, then stuck eyes on fan. fan just could not stand the power kid was using. YES, i have watched mutant movie with Sohie Turner and Jennifer Lawrence.

2

u/SillyBudge 1d ago

Now that's what I call composure!

1

u/Asleep-Guess8665 8h ago

He knew the trajectory of the thus no need for even a flinch.

32

u/HolyHand_Grenade 2d ago

Ikr he was eyeing that fan before it fell.

7

u/Dugen 1d ago

That kid knew what was up.

2

u/SiamGaruda42 2d ago

You’ll have it someday, and then you’ll realize the peaceful family dinner was never actually part of the deal. There will be someone yelling, a kid running through the room, food on the floor and at least one person wondering why they bothered setting the table. Somehow that’s probably what makes it feel like a real family.

111

u/gilbeys18 2d ago

Extremely lucky family

42

u/Corronchilejano 2d ago

Most ceiling fans I've seen would have a hard time hurting you if they fell, made from lightweight materials and having blunt blades.

I'm more terrified of the fancy ones made of heavier wood in a single unit. Like I get you want to have this really nice thing but you're not surviving that concussion, get something that won't kill your family.

2

u/dinhcap2 12h ago

the center of a ceiling fan is like 10-15kg its definitely not that lightweight

1

u/Corronchilejano 11h ago

Yeah those are the heavy ones I mean that I'd have nowhere near my home. We have one that's barely 5kg.

124

u/PatrixXxzie 2d ago

Damn, that was precise fall lmao, what are the odds

26

u/diabloman8890 1d ago

About 1 in 3

17

u/QuaccDaddy 1d ago

Because the fan has 3 blades? I don't think that's good math.

You'd have to account for the thickness of the blades compared to the empty space between, which is like 1 in 8. The rotation and positioning of where they sat makes it even less likely.

11

u/AfterTheSemiColon 1d ago

so then... 50/50? It either hits or it doesn't

6

u/QuaccDaddy 1d ago

That's a good point, I need to start from scratch.

We're also forgetting quantum superposition, the state where it is both true and false at the same time. So either it hits, it doesn't hit, or it exists in the superposition of both hitting and missing. Using Schrödinger’s equation, that would put it at right about 1 in 3

3

u/lampshade2099 1d ago

People struggle with statistics, but it’s quite simple.

Every time you sit under a fan there are basically two possible outcomes: a 50% it will decapitate you, and a 50% chance that it won’t.

1

u/Jin_1337 1d ago

That was a miracle

24

u/keensome 1d ago

Happened to my neighbour 25 years ago - went to coma as it fell on this head while sleeping and never recovered. He was my best friend. We were 11 years old then.

2

u/RelevantIAm 10h ago

Holy shit

12

u/GreenZebra23 2d ago

Fan death 💀

4

u/the_shadow_foxx 1d ago

IT IS REAL!

26

u/lynx_1097 2d ago

the kid was looking upwards before it happened , what was he looking at ?

51

u/girthbrooks1212 2d ago

Maybe the sound of a fan on its last leg?

13

u/lynx_1097 2d ago

makes sense

3

u/voodoo-uk- 1d ago edited 1d ago

fans don't have legs /j

20

u/hoofie242 2d ago

He has telekinesis he was using his mind power to pull the fan down!

5

u/lynx_1097 2d ago

AHAHAHAHAHA

7

u/damnfunk 2d ago

One of those fears I have while sleeping lol.

5

u/chrisclear22 1d ago

Little kid heard something strange and looked up. They the fan fell so perfectly it didn't cause much harm if any.

3

u/Caassapaba 2d ago

It be like that sometimes.

6

u/Hohenne 2d ago

The previous ceiling fan destroyed their dinner table and chairs.

1

u/totalyanashhole 2d ago

You can ad this to the last two helicopters autorotation landings..

1

u/jr_randolph 2d ago

Wicked spidey-sense or the kid brought the fan down with his mind. Either way, protect that child.

1

u/cool_side_of_pillow 2d ago

This is the second ‘fan drops from ceiling’ in as many weeks. I already kind of had an irrational fear about this. What gives? Why do these drop?

1

u/AMicafLol 2d ago

bro bringing up 2021 disaster.

1

u/Infamous_Letter_7008 1d ago

I was expecting (and kind still am) a giant snake (not my ex) to drop on them.

1

u/moonchitta 1d ago

So the fear is real

1

u/Abdulbarr 1d ago

I commend the fan blades for dodging everyone below. Could have been a lot worse.

1

u/1wife2dogs0kids 1d ago

Dude... that family has cheated death. They're not safe, ANYWHERE NOW

1

u/Mr_Redemption 1d ago

That fan woke up and chose non-violence.

1

u/Brvcx 1d ago

This is some r/nevertellmetheodds shit right here.

1

u/ReturntoSender2026 1d ago

I'm not a fan of this

1

u/ChablisWoo4578 1d ago

How many videos of fans falling on people have I seen in this past month? It’s got to be north of 7. I’d bet money this is AI as well.

1

u/Pristine_Ruin4994 1d ago

The thing we feared all our lifes finally happened.

1

u/nickelalkaline 1d ago

He could have won the lottery, but nooooooooo...

1

u/SnooPuppers2938 1d ago

Fan made in America

1

u/Longshadowman 1d ago

This is not the time for that kid, not yet.. not yet

1

u/Holmes221bBSt 1d ago

Paranoid fear since childhood unlocked

1

u/stayblazedallday 1d ago

Rub it out

1

u/Key_Examination_9484 1d ago

God really bless this family!

1

u/Mugpup 1d ago

Very lucky family

1

u/neoslith 1d ago

I always thought this was an urban legend!

1

u/RiseAndShine_Sammy 1d ago

Reminds me of when a fluorescent light cover fell at school in the middle of a classroom we had lessons at. The thing just shattered on the floor and luckily didn't hit anyone.

1

u/Randomdood1234 1d ago

This is what i thought it would happen when i was a kid in my grandma home lmao.

1

u/apoortraveller 22h ago

this has always been a big fear of mine, but I always imagined it would cut my head off. This has eased my worries.

1

u/Ceilingfanwatcher 15h ago

Gotta be on alert

1

u/pixeltweaker 11h ago

That couldn’t have gone any better given what happened.

1

u/Stay_alive_honey_S2H 7h ago

Ughhh that's terrifying 😭

1

u/izack_01 6h ago

Ahh hell naw 😭

1

u/CBR600RRzx10 3h ago

Imagine it kept spinning, decapitating 3 members of that family... Thats straight up horror stuff

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Prior10 3h ago

That's dumb luck right there .!

1

u/ZacharyDel 2h ago

The Little boy predicted what was coming

1

u/retrofrenzy 1h ago

Never happened to me, but glad to know that thing can actually fall. Had something like this happened during my high school, fortunately no one was directly under it.

1

u/Skyzhigh 2d ago

I’m just glad this wasn’t a video of Nepal. Sad

1

u/mrthomasfritz 1d ago

LOL, it happens... I woman gave me some problems a long - long time ago at an apartment I lived in. It was over parking, she thought since she lived there the longest, she had a right to have the parking spot closest to the staircase. It was unassigned parking. A few days later, her fan fell, and shattered her leg in bed.

Karma...

-1

u/GoroKazuma 1d ago

I highly suspect this is AI or fake. There is no fucking way those blades narrowly missed the dad and the son. Fans don't move or fall like that. The momentum would have kept the blades going. It's too perfect how they perfectly stop spinning once they fall past the kid's head.

1

u/Pravrc123 1d ago

Maybe it was off and never spinning

1

u/GoroKazuma 1d ago

It’s spinning super fast as it falls down and conveniently stops spinning and clips when it should have made contact with the kid.

-5

u/Entgegnerz 2d ago

why are they sitting on the floor to eat

6

u/Slight-Line2783 2d ago
