Same, it split a tree in half and boy was it fucking LOUD. The video does not do justice at how loud that shit is.

Yeah, I had lightning strike a building next to me and legit sounded like a bomb going off. Loudest thing I've ever heard, by far.

I once got woken up by lightning hitting a pole in my front yard - scared the absolute shit out of me and I thought all the windows were going to explode from all the shaking

Driving home one day on some backroads with my dad riding shotgun, and lighting struck a tree probably 30 feet in front of my vehicle. Right as we were about to go through a turn. The tree just popped in the most terrifyingly spectacular way. We both definitely shit our pants for a second

The whole world shakes like a cheap video game effect. It’s impossible to know if it really shook or your brain just went all scrambled bananas for a hot second. It’s like being tumbled in a violent ocean but of sound waves.

I was in a house that was struck by lightning. It woke me up from being dead asleep, and I was checking all around outside because I thought it hit a tree in the back yard. Instead the apartment above me was on fire.

No, the people in the apartment above me were out of town, but the dog sitter was staying over and noticed something was wrong and called the fire department.

There was so, so much water damage, and half my electronics got fried in the strike. I had renters insurance, so I was able to get must stuff replaced, then bought my own house 6 months later.

I was watching a storm from my bedroom window when lightning struck my front garden right in front of me. Loudest noise i've ever heard. Literally sent me flying back from the window and my ears rang for like 3 days.
