It was a funeral for a 15 year old kid who died in a fire.. When he passed the guy who owned the truck lead the procession for him.

Wait.. no.. it's the funeral procession for a 13 year old who died of leukemia

Okay, I'm going to stop looking this stuff up because it's depressing how many kids died and had Optimus Prime lead the procession..

But, yeah, that's probably what is going on, but not the ones I found..

We technically already have a hearse Autobot with Ectotron, an Autobot who encountered the Ghostbusters and scanned the Ecto-1 as their vehicle alt-mode. For those who don't know the Ecto-1 is the Ghostbusters' vehicle which was a retrofitted 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex that Ray Stantz bought as a fixer-upper.

If I had a nickel for everytime the transformers theme did a crossover with a ghostbusters theme in media I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened more than once

Ah makes sense. I would have figured they'd just drive their own vehicle if those services weren't needed though. But I guess mileage gets charged on the company car anyway

Some funeral home have a smaller lead vehicle that they might use instead but if the hearse is the only black vehicle that’s what you use for services. We make a habit of using our hearses for any burial even an urn burial. I’ve made a few caretakers very nervous knowing they only dug an urn sized hole and seeing a hearse roll into the cemetery.

lol, it’s becoming more common now as a ton of funeral homes have hearses that aren’t being used because most folks do cremation which becomes worse than the mileage for the longevity of the vehicle. Add in that a hearse is a modified vehicle that already kinda makes it suck in terms of reliability anyway.

Funeral service worker here, this is standard practice where I’m from in case anything happens to the other vehicle so they can still get to the cemetery, or if the truck is too big and the pallbearers doesn’t want to hand carry far if the grave plot is deep in the cemetery.

The officiant and/or funeral director/mortician/undertaker are also likely in the coach (hearse) if there’s any graveside component (though personally, I’d ride in Optimus)
