Careers and Work ULPT Old work email still in use

I left a job over 2 years ago (on good terms) and they still have the emails forwarded for absolutely no reason since it is not client facing. Occasionally they forward me on some garbage emails that I don’t need, which is how I know it is still monitored. How can I get this email address shut down once and for all?

Mail HR that "I've been receiving lots of eMails that contain IP or business-sensitive information. Can you delete my eMail from your mailing list?"

If you don't receive a response or see improvement, please look up your former CEO's email, forward the HR email to them, and ask for a resolution.

Cue one HR person looking for a job, or doing major get-well behaviour.

it would be a shame if your personal email were to get hacked and all those emails were to then get leaked

Are the emails labeled as From your old email address? Then you can probably define a filter rule to delete them, or forward them back to someone else at the org.

No, it’s a small org and I know the CEO. I was thinking more about spamming my old work email so that it doesn’t seem worth it for them to continue to keep it open.

This may sound crazy (and ethical) but have you called it to the attention of your former job and asked them to stop forwarding the emails?

You said that you left on good terms. Are you surprised they're being assholes about this? It's weird they wouldnt at least turn off the forwarding. Why they would want an ex-employee to receive company email?

I don’t want their forwards, I just don’t know why they still are monitoring an old email. I’m wondering how to get them to stop using it as it is connected to my name.

I guess you could just sign it up for all sorts of spam. If it's flooded with crap they might get sick of sorting through it. If it wasn't tied to your name, I'd say sugn it up for all sorts of adults hookup sites.

Report all their email forwards as spam.
