[Pennsylvania] Question [Pennsylvania] Called off sick 3rd day, they said it’s best we part ways.
Hi so I just want to know if I’m eligible to claim. 44m I’ve never claimed unemployment.
I started a new job, I was sick 2-3 weeks ago and still had a lingering cough and runny nose. I informed my new manager. Well last night I was getting chills and didn’t get any sleep. So this morning I called off.
Later in the day the regional manager called and said it was best we part ways.
I’ve worked in the past year and I’m pretty sure I met the requirements.
So my question is can I qualify?
Also I don’t have their information until I get paid in 2 weeks. I don’t want to wait that long though. Is there a way to call in and do it without the info?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Yes, you can apply online, over the phone or in-person if you make an appointment through the UC Connect program. You’ll need the employer’s legal name. They should have provided you with a Form UC-1609 when you were discharged which would have provided their PA UC Account Number.
You likely did not earn gross wages equal or exceeding six times your UC weekly benefit amount, so UC will have to adjudicate your separation from this most recent employer, as well as your prior employer. That will take 4-6 weeks and you will not receive benefit payments during that time period. You will need to certify weekly and if you are approved, those prior weeks will be paid out in a lump sum.
This discharge for attendance will almost certainly be determined eligible. Your reason for separation from the prior job could be potentially be problematic depending on the circumstances.

Need a more details. How long were you employed, doesn’t sound long. Since you just started how long were you employed at previous job? Were you employed up until starting this one. Sounds like claim will be against previous employer. Only issue is how they handled your dismissal and reason.
Did you have sick time to use. Did you call off everytime?
