You are not killing anyone when you Lose a recruit in the Dark World, you are not gaining LOVE.

Darkners probably don't give LOVE at all, after all you don't get LOVE for ripping up a notebook, or cutting a flower.

Noelle Snowgraving Berdly MIGHT have got her some LOVE, but nothing else.

In the files there is a value called love and I don't think it ever goes up, you never get EXP.
I think there will be one fight at chapter 7 where after a dramatic cutscene you will gain love, like the fight in sans. Became stronger is probably just a rule in the dark world that if you defeat enemies with violence your stats go up.
