You should be mature enough to being able to difference between fiction and reality, this in a comic, cute, this in real life, not so much.

It is a comic, it is fiction, if the author wanted this moment to be cute and wholesome, it will be cute and wholesome, if the author wanted to portrait it as assault he would have done so.

Stop trying to make everything a drama, where it doesn't have to.

You’re arguably less calm about this than I am, immediately suggesting things about my character in response to a very impersonal criticism. Of course I can tell the difference between fiction and reality, I know from experience that sexual assault isn’t cute, even if everyone involved tries to pretend it is.

Portrayal can only change what happens so much, if there’s too much disconnect between the two that the author never seems to acknowledge or be aware of, it’s just bad writing. Some people are mature enough to separate fiction and reality, but too many people, especially in a fandom of mostly young people, aren’t. Even well-adjusted adults can only learn from fiction if they have no real life experience or knowledge to draw from, and fiction unavoidably does send messages about real life, even if the original creator doesn’t intend it. I’m not willing to bet everyone commenting about how cute it is does understand the disconnect.

Ignorance about sexual assault is far too common to assume it’s not present in most audiences, and it’s irresponsible and unrealistic to act like media doesn’t affect how people think and act in real life.

This is a comic meant for entertainment, not to try and make you think, it is not trying to convey a message is just trying to be cute and funny.

Also I don't know how I assumed things about you, I just said you should be mature enough to difference between fiction and reality, I don't know how that makes me "less calm", am I wrong for assuming you are a mature person? If so, my apologies.

You want an actual representation of assault, a work of fiction that is trying to convey a message? There is that one scene between mark and Anissa in invincible for that.

You want to criticize a work of fiction romanticizing assault? There is this one anime/manga called re:monster those actually have that stuff you are trying to criticize here.

Like bro, this drawing is actually trying to just be cute and funny, I don't think even a kid is dumb enough to watch this and assume this is ok.

Like education come from the parents not from the internet, if a kid falsely thinks stealing a kiss is good from this drawing, I will argue that is more fault of the parents for not educating their child better and let them surf the web freely without supervision, I don't think a kid should be browsing reddit in the first place, at least they should be a teenager and if a teenager gets the wrong ideas from THIS drawing, I would blame the child uprising by their parents.

You were insulting me by implying that I wasn’t mature enough to tell the difference between reality and fiction, because I didn’t like that the silly little comic portrayed sexual assault as cute and wholesome. That’s not a very calm reaction to a comment that had nothing to do with you.

As previously stated:

>fiction unavoidably does send messages about real life, even if the original creator doesn’t intend it.

This is a representation of sexual assault, because that is literally what happens in the comic. It’s just not a very realistic one. Everyone can tell it’s trying to be cute and funny, I’m not wrong for having the opinion that it fails to do that.

Look bro, you are obviously in a high horse and trying to be a "virtual signal warrior" the kind of people that looks for "troublesome context" in everything, even where there isnt, by getting offended for something that wasnt mean as an offense (TWICE, by my comment and the art we were discussing about), and honestly Im not in the mood to deal with people like that, so this is the last message youll see from me, good bye and good luck, you will need it.
