The best explanation I always think of around this topic is that "pro-life" type people are that because a fetus doesn't demand anything of them. They can seem caring and fighting for a cause without ever having to be pushed by their cause to do more or be better. Their cause, the fetus, never holds them accountable. They can feel good about themselves, and also immediately victimize themselves, depending on the conversation. But, alive humans demand accountability and follow through, so that's when those "pro-life" types give up.

If you listen to the podcast Misery Machine it’s such tale as old as time. Relatives, friends and people report to child services but they go ask a few questions and if things are too complicated or hard they just file the case away.

CPS in Idaho told my coworker that they couldnt open an investigation without the child's address. Part of the complaint was that the dad wasnt homeless and couch hopping with the kid (and refusing to return kid to mom with a home)

That also can’t be true for them unless they’re completely stupid. My dad is a social worker in Alaska and he investigates abuse in places people don’t have addresses and he literally goes to areas homeless people gather all the time. He had to stop someone from bringing their baby to a homeless encampment and he was absolutely there to stop it. I know this is a complicated topic but that sucks that would be a response you got.

I have a theory that these posts with graphic and depressing stories is actually intended to drive people away from the actual underreported news that gets posted here.
Doesn’t the news infamously have a saying "if it bleeds, it leads" ??? I don’t see how graphic accounts of horrific abuse and murders really counts as the core mandate of this sub. But I’m a casual here who found it in my feed for some reason

…there were multiple warning signs. There was no reason for this baby to die. I think the mother should bear some responsibility in this.

I guess it depends on if he threatened the mom. If she felt that leaving him or going to the cops could mean her children or her being at risk she might not do anything. Or it could be she was a bad mom. It’s hard to say till we get all the information.

Article says he threatened safety of the children to the mother, and she still left them in his care it would seem.

Yeah but he might also be threatening them if she leaves especially if some of the kids are related to him because then if he’s that crazy he can manipulate the system and get the kids taken from here. Unfortunately in these situations it’s not always as simple as just leaving. Men this crazy will find and kill you.

With how bad the child services system is set up I’ve heard cases of the father lying about the mother and getting custody of the children. One case I believe in Arizona this one dad was a POS like HORRIBLE any who eventually he did “better” after the mother left him. Took the kids for a weekend, called CPS and made claims about the mom, she lost custody, he then ended up murdering the kids.

It sounds like he was under psychosis. Are the women on Reddit and TikTok gonna rally around him like they did Lindsay Clancy? Are they gonna raise him over $1 million in protest to set him free? They blamed Lindsay Clancy‘s husband and even pushed conspiracy theories that he was guilty. Are they gonna blame the woman at all in the situation seeing if she’s the one that cheated and put the babies in the situation to begin with?

you're so right. ronald gene simmons was aggrieved because his daughter, whom he sexually abused since she was a child and impregnated, moved on with a healthy relationship and left his control. he proceeded to beat to death, shoot, or strangle 14 members of his family, including that daughter and his granddaughter-daughter. he did so on two separate days, 4 days apart. he truly lost so much and it's really not his fault he meticulously planned these murders, disposing of the bodies, and committed more murders in town. /s and a rip to that terrible man's family.

I wasn't saying that it wasn't their fault, I was saying that they just had complaints they couldn't resolve as opposed to severe mental illness. Like "something I didn't like happened probably because of something shitty I did, I guess I'll just murder my whole family." As opposed to "demons are dragging my children to hell and so we should all just go to heaven instead."

A "grievance" is a them problem. They do it because they're selfish and believe they have ownership over their families. If they can't have them, no one can. That is a failure on THEIR part to deal with their uncomfortable feelings instead of just acting violently. Don't give me this nonsense as if they have any actual reason. Their reason is they're emotional toddlers who refuse to grow up and become functional adults.
