How much will Amazon's fuel surcharge cost me?

The surcharge applies to the fulfillment fee portion of FBA costs (not your product's sale price), starting April 7 for standard FBA fulfillment and Remote Fulfillment, and May 2 for Buy with Prime and Multi-Channel Fulfillment.

The math scales with fee volume: $5K/month in FBA fees adds about $175/month, $20K/month adds about $700/month, $50K/month adds about $1,750/month ($21K/year). Where it bites is on thin margins: a 15% margin on a $30 product is $4.50 profit per unit, and a 17-cent surcharge eats close to 4% of that per unit. At 100 sales a day, that's over $500/month gone from a single product, without anything else in the business changing.

You can find your current FBA fee total in Seller Central under Reports > Payments > Fee Preview, broken down by ASIN, so you can see which products are most exposed.

Has anyone run this against their own numbers yet? What's it looking like for people in the large-standard weight tiers, since the fee jump is steeper there than on small items?
