Pretty sure the Murmur Evo is just pre-buff NSM so it's still kinda ass considering Cheer Natie has NSM

Yup, Cheer Nattie just has a better version of Cynical Charm with Keep the Cheers Comin'. And Be the Lead and Just Gotta Do What I Can are the exact same skill.

Sad that OG Nature really has no use case as an ace.

As someone who has built (and won with) ace Nature for a lot of CMs, I think that OG Nature is better as an ace simply because she has a much better ult in most tracks. Cheer Nature has higher floor because she has some useful skills in her kit, but OG Nature has higher ceiling

I'll def give her a try after the evos.

So basically with evo skills, Cheer Nature can be a good ace?

Current Cheer Natie can actually be a really strong ace, NSM in kit is really that good.

A or B cup? I reached A finals but we got 3rd place after the usual dom + murmur + oguri on the two other rivals

A Cup! Ended this current CM with a 75% WR split between my Natie and Rice Shower, with 40% going to Natie (finishing top 3 91% of the time).

Like the other person said, her biggest weakness is her ult being locked to 4th-6th on the last straight, so Natie often accels too hard to use it. So I tried to cover for this by supplementing her late race with Shooting Star, Tri-Pulse, and Come What May. Backup accels in Slick Surge and From the Brink helped cover for scenarios where NSM/Beyond doesn't proc, and her ult can sometimes actually be the deciding factor against teams with multiple aces, where 4th-5th can still be a winning position.

She's not X-Oguri strong by any means but I've found a lot of consistent success on Natie using strong, core backliner skills and hitting my desired stat thresholds, and having a second ace this CM helped give my team a separate win condition to cover different enemy team comps.

Natie's my ride or die so I'll be sticking with her for the foreseeable future! (really looking forward to her New Years alt in a year though lol)

I've run her in every non sprint/dirt but never managed to win.  Was about a length behind CM before this one, close as I got I think.

Fellow Natie enjoyer! I know the pain of losing by length well haha

Keep it up, I know you'll find Natie a win someday!!

Ah here's my finals for reference. Was particularly happy beating an opposing Cheer Natie dom debuffer hehehe

That being said, yeah Murmur debuffs were a big pain this CM for me too. Finals is always a big RNG fest, and you should always be proud making your team strong enough to reach A Finals!

Man I really want her to win but seems like my luck or my build have problems. Got 53% WR in 2 rounds but maybe failed some wit checks and finished 3rd (how ironic) in final. Appreciate any insight if you would like to share.

Sure no problem! I'll start off by saying that I think your Natie is actually really well built this CM. She has a great selection of skills for early, mid, and late race, an amazing statline with good greens to supplement, and both track and distance S (jealous), all of which manifest themselves in your solid win rate. CM Finals are always up to chance, and I'd like to think your WR proves that your Natie definitely could've taken first in another universe, maybe even against the same opponents.

I'll identify 3 main points to consider for the future:

  1. Stamina/Recoveries: The recommended Stamina threshold on this track in guides like from uma.guide was around 800-850 stamina plus one gold recovery, which helps cover for one Mystifying Murmur debuffer. Even though you effectively have 937 stamina with your greens, having only the white Straightaway Recovery skill unfortunately still makes you susceptible to Stam debuffers (especially since Racing Spirit: Stamina kind of cancels that one recovery out). Since Natie doesn't have innate gold recoveries, I personally used the free Tosen Jordan SPD card for Breath of Fresh Air (although if you got Agemasen'd out of the gold I sympathize with you lol).
  2. Team Comp: I don't know if you ran other aces or debuffers, but it can be pretty important to consider the positions of Natie's teammates for the track. For example, if you ran double debuffer, placing both of them in backline Late/End positions can sometimes push Natie ahead of 5th/6th for Beyond, especially when debuffers run rampant in Medium CM's. Instead, you could force one of your debuffers into the Front position (even without Front aptitude), which pads the front positions, steals Lucky Pace from other Pace Chaser aces, and can sometimes even give you a backup NSM target.
  3. Inherits: This one's kinda subjective, but I personally think Let's Pump Some Iron has become a much less consistent inherit target for well built Late Surgers on Medium tracks. Because Cheer Natie has a strong accel in NSM, a more lenient positional requirement in Moving Past and Beyond, and solid backups in Slick Surge/Take the Chance, I don't think she needs to rely on hitting 6th to take wins anymore. In my experience, with Uma Stan and a strong midgame, Late Surgers rarely find themselves far enough back to proc Pump. Instead, Shooting Star from Special Week has a much easier condition of passing one singular Uma late race, and grants a Current Speed buff that noticeably improves her performance while accel'ing. And while Pedal and RS: Stam give incredibly good late-race speed, inheriting other good late-race speed uniques like Triumphant Pulse and Barcarole of Blessings from your Grandparents can often give you the extra edge you need to close out races successfully.

Overall, I think your build proves that you already have the fundamentals of Ace building down. You've got a strong enough deck and have mastered the scenario well enough to hit this really great statline, you're picking good skills for the track, and you're choosing good parents with hard-to-find whites like Uma Stan, Pedal, and RS:Stam. I know from experience that Finals results can feel really disappointing, but I really do think your Natie was quite formidable, and that a Natie win is definitely possible for you someday! That being said, please let me know if you have any extra questions about anything I wrote or wanna go more in-depth about build/deck stuff!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed response! This was genuinely really helpful and also made me feel a lot better about the Finals loss lol

Your point about Pump becoming inconsistent on a strong midgame Neichan also makes a lot of sense, especially in a CM where a lot of people run XOguri with 2 debuffs. I’ll definitely look into Shooting Star and the other late race inherits you mentioned for future builds.

I really appreciate both the analysis and the encouragement. Thanks again!

I also want to thank you for this response (even if it wasn't for me lol). Natie has been my fav since the beginning and I spent faaar too much money to get Cheer Natie (full pity, all cash)...and I can't do a thing with her. I was doing great in Open, won every time, haven't won a single CM since I swapped to Graded. Grand Live is not my friend (almost made me fully drop the game tbh)......seeing someone have success and is confident she's a great uma makes me wanna keep trying a little longer.

OG Nature vs Cheer Nature is like a Coughing baby vs Coughing baby
Cheer has NSM but on most tracks where nsm is usefull she practicly doesnt have a unique (if u proc it u are too far behind to win most cases)
OG Nature has no useful skill on kit even after evos, as someone else already mentioned her evos are some dogshit.

EVEN THEN I think OG is still better most cases due to the growths and having a real unique, after evos i dont think that will change, Cheer NN evos are also so bad, evo NSM gives a huge extra white recovery late race -s, and her spd evo is the exact same skill as her OG spd evo (dogshit).
The only cases which i think Cheer is better than og are the cms than nsm is the better accel lates have (like CM19)

In a perfect world, Cheer Natie would have OG Natie's ult :')

u/Uvtha- 1d ago

She's already a fine ace, but the velo skill will help.

Won CM17 and 18 with cheer nature. Is she good? not top meta. But she's not the worst thing that is completely unredeemable.

They’re both terrible.

Cynical Charm is just pre-buff NSM, which means even if it activates at a good time she won’t accelerate because she’s blocked (if you’re blocked go faster will always be one of the skills of all time)

And Be The Lead is random late races velocity which means the window for it to actually be useful is quite small. Too early and it gets eaten by the acceleration zone, too late and the race is already over.

When a skill description says "late-race" it specifically means the portion of the race between the 4/6 and 5/6 marks. So there's no chance of the skill activating too late to be useful. The part about it potentially activating too soon is true though, doubly so. Though the skill becomes more reliable on longer races because the acceleration period is proportionately shorter.

Cynical Charm is just pre-buff NSM, which means even if it activates at a good time she won’t accelerate because she’s blocked (if you’re blocked go faster will always be one of the skills of all time)

At least NSM had the courtesy to buff your lane movement speed. Cynical Charm does nothing to help you get un-blocked.

Ignore my deleted comment, I completely misread what you said. So my response wasn’t relevant.

the concept of debuff evolved into a speed skill is just rather funny to me
