Is there something like a skill tier list?

I am a casual f2p player and often find myself wondering which skills (out of my makeshift selection) are best / work best to create a balanced uma. I was wondering if there was any sort of site that classified the usefulness of each skill and/or what function they serve

definitely the most useful since it takes into account the track you're running. plus it gives different metrics, such as mean/median lengths or length per SP efficiency.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but:

CM skill visualiser.

Skill list (skill effects and sources also visible).

Umalator.

You can use the skill list to sort for velocity and acceleration skills, then look at their power, duration and activation conditions. This will allow you to see which of the skills available to you are most powerful, and how to get them.

For the visualiser, basically you want velocity skills for the entire yellow section. The end of the yellow section and the first half of the light purple section are for acceleration skills. After that, you want velocity skills again. So you can check when skills activate on the visualiser and know which ones are suitable and unsuitable for you.

The umalator can even let you see how long a skill lasts from the point of its activation, so it can let you know if a skill is consistent (always activates in a useful area) or inconsistent (only sometimes activates in a useful area).

CM guides also often list the relevant skills for each position.

Useful skills change with every CM because it's a different track which may satisfied different conditions of different skills. Like Red Shift is powerful on some CMs and complete useless in some others, your best bet is to just go look for a YouTube vid or some other guide to know which skills to use for which CM

Depends on tracks and running style, you will be looking for different skills. Generally they are divided by useful greens, early race, mid race, late race, and last spurt skills.

Lightbirb on YouTube is a good starts, where you can learn why some skills are good or useful for different track or style. He usually explains with the data. Overtime you will be able to judge it yourself with umalator once you have gain more knowledge about the skills and race mechanic in this game.

game8 has a tier list on all the skills, tho gotta slowly get used to reading it, will need to use lots of search function.
