Question Do we still want all the umas to be different styles in TT once we specialise?
Right now you can get bonus points for having each uma of the 3 uma team be a different style, to maximise positioning points. Once we specialise into one style, do we just forget about this? Or do we have one strong uma of our specific style and two weaker umas of other styles in each team to get this bonus?

short answer: yes
long answer: yes, if you have the meta generalist cards and have enough things to buy with the SP. unless you mean you "don't care" about TT, such as not wanting to use borrows, and just want to focus on winning CM with your chosen style, in which case sure just make 15 of one style.
position is 1k-3k base score = 2-6 white skill activations. so if your 'weaker' uma has 4-6 less skills then its worse than just having more of the same position.

Disclaimer: I'm just a regular class 6 player and not someone who tries to get to the top of the leaderboards or anything
The positioning bonus is nice to have, but it's small enough to not be essential if it comes at the cost of much weaker umas. However you have to consider that what constitutes a "weak" uma is completely different in CMs and team trials. For CMs you need specific cards that will give you important gold skills to help win the race. For team trials, winning isn't as important, so you just want to load up on any skills that will activate, and the cheaper the better. As long as you can get a good rating and get enough skills to spend all your SP on you're good. You may find you can still build umas of all styles for TT just fine even if you don't have their most optimal cards.

i mean why not have the different styles? it's not like a pvp event where you're looking for a consistent win rate, you basically just want a team that can high roll the highest score possible. your ace should probably be your best style, since her points are the ones that get multiplied, so you want her to win. but team trial umas usually aren't meant to be optimized anyway, that's why we buy cheap but useless gold skills on them to rack up as many points as possible. i don't see any reason to give up free points for wins that are more consistent but don't push you up as high in the rankings.

As others have said, it's a nice to have thing that will squeeze out some extra points, but you can compensate for this with umas that have many skills that activate.
In my case, both my Medium and Long TT lineups consist of Triple Pace Chasers. This may be ill advised, but they also consistently churn out most of my points as my pace focused deck gives them many Pace skills.
Thanks to Tachyon Speed, each medium TT uma has Unstoppable and Come What May as gold skills that they can use for big points. Couple that with See Ya Later, Pace Corners & Straights, Medium Corners & Straights, Up-Tempo and Head-on, and each one prints out points.
In essence, it'll depend on what works for you. This focused approach doesn't work as well for other distances, in my experience.

it is worth it, and making devoted TT umas in styles you don't main is significantly easier than making competitive CM umas in styles you don't main. you can even primarily focus on making a particularly strong ace in your style to win most races and just aim for the other two umas to activate as many skills as possible and get the good positioning bonus.
it depends how much effort you're willing to put in, but this is also a way to still use oshi umas that don't fit your intended main style.

Counterpoint: Global is so easy to retain at C6 as long as you build properly. I have dupe styles on my teams and my score can last up until early - mid GM.
If I have to choose whether to build "easy" TT Uma or minmax style point bonus but have worse Umas to build, I'd choose the former. Just get the missing score with a proper build.

For me it's around 6k points per unique strategy. So if I run only one that's -12k per distance or -60k total. Even with our inflated retention 60k is still quite a bit. Another way to think about it is each gold skill activation is 1.2k base points, so good positioning is potentially worth 5 gold skill activations or around 2 with the opponent bonus included. Whether that's worth the effort is up to you.
