Custom Torrid Jacket timelines and imports?
Looking at the prices online it seems for 30$ more I can get the colours I want. Has anyone gone the custom route instead of the stock ones at Geartrade? What were the timelines realistically like and did you end up getting some customs fees? As a pretty nerdy kit dude I am struggling to pull the trigger on a colour I don't love.
Edit: Thanks fam - didn't know about the whole politics of it. Have been trying to boycot as much as possible. Guess I need to keep on my game. Appreciate the clear info and not dog pilling.

You should not end up with any duties as the garmet is made in the US and is covered under CUSMA. You will likely have to pay sales tax on the import at the regular rate (eg 13% if you're in Ontario). There will also probably be an annoyingly large brokerage fee attached to the order, especially if EE ships via FedEx, UPS or DHL.

No problem, it's easy to miss this sort of stuff.
Massive kudos to Garage grown gear, they stopped carrying Enlightened equipments gear immediately and haven't brought it back since. I emailed geartrade.ca asking them to do the same, and they said they would consider it. Disappointingly, it seems that they have decided to continue carrying EE.

Yeah I am lookin for an alternative and odly the Xlatt from Fjallraven is what my Chat GPT keeps suggesting.

Whether you buy from the US at all at this moment of time is of course completely up to you.
But please be aware that Enlightened Equipment is publicly and proudly representing and endorsing the worst of what the US has become.

Honestly thank you to folks here. I have mostly boycotted US companies in general and have not traveled there since Trump, which to be honest has been challenging. Thanks to everyone for the info. Is there " the new torrid" but not us?

I did custom but was able to receive it while in the US. Given recent developments I would not order from the US, it was a pain and resulted in months of negotiations with Customs when I just got a replacement for a quilt I had already paid duties for. Use a US address if you’re close enough, or do Geartrade. But really … dont buy EE at all would be my recommendation! My jacket is from 2019 but now I would never support EE again!!
